If you're happy with it & it gets the job done for you, then that's all that counts.

Personally, I don't like the way it looks. Doesn't match. Your Missus will probably feel pretty reinforced if she reads the feedback on this thread " />

I whacked some Raybrig reflectors in to replace the factory headlights and that has definitely negated the need for any additional lighting, given how bright they are. Not to mention fines for having fog/driving lights on in most states now :)

I had Raybrig HID's installed. They are bright but they don't really have much distance of light projection. Not really impressed tbh.

Fines for fog/driving lights? If there's fog - you can use fog lights, if you are on an open road and no other driver is within (Insert state reg for distance) from you - you can use driving lights.

IMHO, the stock ones look better because they fit the shape of the front bar - round ones don't, but anyway I consider my stock driving lights are for looks only.

Early model SW20's had sealed beam headlamps that deteriorate with time and any car now with these still fitted will have very inferior lights compared to fitting a high quality modern semi-sealed lens/reflector assembly combined with the latest halogen globes such as Phillips X-treme vision. This will also give the modern sharp cutoff with the beam rising to the left on low beam.
I did this conversion and on high beam the main headlamps are now so bright they make my stock AUS del driving lights redundant anyway

Damm, if I like em I guess I do have bad taste:-( The originals that came with the car were one yellow and one clear which looked crap and also had a very feeble output.

If you like them, that is all that matters. It's your car at the end of the day.
As for the lights, is your car a Japanese import? It is possible to remove the yellow reflector inside to make them both the same. Very easy to do.

That being said, doubt would help output - but I have always found the factory MR2 headlight/high-beam combo to be more then adequate.

Sorry mate, your missus is right ( repeat after me - "Yes, dear" ) Seriously, the unique design of the SW is such that, with one exception, the only possible way of fitting extra lights is to go for the factory original fogs. The exception? How about some clever person gutting the shell, and installing high output LED's instead?

Forgive me, there is another alternative. As displayed above, the full "monte" (pun intended) rally style light pod bar. It's my own personal opinion, but that look is enough to put a horn on a monastic jellyfish.

Ah, public opinion - it can be cruel.

I have been looking at options for more light for the type of driving i do.

Its not easy to fit a round light in an odd shaped hole, rectangle really doesn't look right, round may work but i think these ones look too small. Go big!

I thought about big spot lights there, but being so low its a position only really suited to fog or driving lights. ( funny thing that)

So, sorry, its a no from me, you will not be progressing to round 2 of "make your 2 hella sick, hold the rice"

Theres a help section here for a reason,
Im sure if you asked a general opinion here before you bought the lights and proceeded to fit them that every answer would have been to keep the stock driving lamps.
I vote for the stock ones too
And while you’re at it find yourself a late model front lip makes the car heaps more better
