(Dudeman)

Dudeman

<strike>And oh yes, J-Spec Tuning in the US? Well they answer emails within hours about a sales enquiry, after the thing is sold? Well, lets just say I won't buy another thing from good 'ol Thaison at J-Spec. </strike>

They are also labelled as 'JST' but still get delivered in an Omori box.

Well I emailed the main site and not the person I had been dealing with. A bloke called James got back to me right away and offered a refund or to send out the old style Omori gauge with older gradations. Can't fault that offer.

So happy with the outcome from J-Spec.

(And the J-spec site will be changed to show the JST gauges not Omori in the next few hours)
Re:Omori gauges, looks like the have changed the size of the printed face. (Dudeman)

^ I bought it about one month ago.

Yeah I went with the 'Omori' for the OEM look too....
Re:Omori gauges, looks like the have changed the size of the printed face. (MIDN1T3)

Hey Dudeman,
When did you get the boost gauge? I purchased one from J-Spec Tuning at the end of last year to put into a TRD cluster I've recently purchased, but never actually opened the box - will definitely check this arvo.
I'm hoping its the older style, the new styles looks 'cheap' and more 'rice' to me - which is the opposite reason why I bought the Omori boost guage! I wanted a clean and OEM look about it.
Re:Omori gauges, looks like the have changed the size of the printed face. (Dudeman)

Mrskylighter

I would be pissed if I bought an Omori gauge and got one with JST written on it. Not a fan of the new design at all.

Yes... The ones shown on their site are the Omori style ones with the gradations in the older style.
Re:Omori gauges, looks like the have changed the size of the printed face. (robk)

Interesting. I would just leave it. The gradations are still easy to see, just not as easy as the original design.
Anyway, if you're at max boost you're probably going to be concentrating a lot more on the road and a lot less on whether the boost gauge is 1 or 2 gradations away from the nearest multiple of 5 psi.
Re:Omori gauges, looks like the have changed the size of the printed face. (Dudeman)

ahh, the small design change by moving the smaller gradations from centre justified to outer.

Made the thing a lot less appealing to the MR2 market I think.<img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/icon_smile_dead.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
Re:Omori gauges, looks like the have changed the size of the printed face. (Dudeman)

The much lauded Omori gauge that looked like this...

and this in RobK's car...

Now has been resized to look like this...

I'm in two minds whether to try and find some where that can do a nicely finished cut and make the port bigger to see more of the gradations or just go with it the way it is. I just know that it'll annoy the hell out of me if a new cut isn't finished spot on - as its right in the middle of the cluster and i'll se it more than anything...

And oh yes, J-Spec Tuning in the US?
