(jessyeo)

those prices make it sound like its not worth it :/
bought the car for 3k ahha.
ill just get my use out of this one and make sure my next is a turbo.
thought there might have been a short cut of slapping a turbo kit on and running low psi, but nothings that easy ahah.

cheers for your help.
Re:3sge turbo kit information needed. (Gatesys SW20)

In terms if labour I believe a swap from road and track in Ipswitch is about 4-5 grand that's drive in drive out

Source a decent half cut for 2-3 grand I guess

Tune depends what ecu you have piggyback average probably 500-1000$
Standalone ecu
A lot.

Someone with more experience could shed some light on this :)

Re:3sge turbo kit information needed. (Gatesys SW20)

If your going a 3sgte get the ecu aswell, gearbox would be good aswell but not essential it all depends on what you have do a comp test, but 188xxxkms honestly unless you rebuild it I would not be running boost through it

I don't think it would last long but then again who knows
Just to be safer then sorry I guess

Mine has 230xxx had the head checked and decked so level, new valves etc and head rebuild essentially
And has 182psi across all four cylinders and I would not be keen on slapping 8 psi through it

That's why it's up for sale so I'm just going to buy a turbo built one so I have a solid base to start with

Re:3sge turbo kit information needed. (jessyeo)

thanks for the fast reply.
engine currently has 188 xxx kms, so i see what your saying.
generally 3sgtes with a few goodies go for $1000?
whats labour and tune worth?

interesting, thanks for the help.
Re:3sge turbo kit information needed. (Gatesys SW20)

Metal head gasket so it dosnt blow.*

Ask 3sgeturbo he did this and got good results cost a fair bit tho I'm pretty sure and he did most of the hard stuff himself
Re:3sge turbo kit information needed. (Gatesys SW20)

Do a search heaps of info out there

In my opinion if you did a turbo build
You could run 10psi don't know how long it would last being a high comp engine

Honestly you would rebuild with new forged internals if you were serious
Because a well used Na will more then likely die with 10 pounds pushed through it of not your just rushing it to an early grave,
All the piping,
Plus injectors
Not worth the hassle sure you would have the low down being hi comp

But just buy a half cut
Or put a turbo engine in there.

Then again your own choice.

Turbo builds will probably set you back 2-3 grand maybe 5 of you can't so the labour
Engine out would probably be up near the 1000 mark
For labour
Then you would do clutch, fly wheel,
Rear main seal, was gasket
Timing belt
Water pump etc

3sge turbo kit information needed.
