(purple5ive)

best to trial fit them as many have suggested earlier
you might not have any of the issues i mentioned baove and it might fit perfectly, you wont know until you try
8.5inch rims are not very common which is why we cant give a proper answer.
most people have 8 and 9 widths in whatever size they want (17, 18 etc) with a 35 offset and that seems to sit nicely on the sw20 body.

yours being 8.5 all around (front and back) with a 32 offset
means your half inch wider already in the front, so .25 inch wider on both inside and outside of the rim
yours also 3mm lower in offset (thereby moving the wheel further away from the strut)
if you only have stock suspension, then you MAY be ok in the fronts (also depends on the profile of the tyre you have in the fronts)
rears will clear easily
only way is to test fit it
cheers
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (Gatesys SW20)

Also those are 18s
So going from 15 to 18 would be illegal and defectable not worth the trouble IMO
18s too big aswell IMO
If you have an Na just stick with stock or go 16s
Any higher then that would be for show and deminish performance greatly also effect your speedo aswell quite badly

Not to mention tyres would be a killer in price

Re:New wheels for my 2.. (triadelite)

so, saying i would like similar rims to the photo I have shown are there any recommendations anyone could provide? (i.e do I need new body work, new coils?)
Also what size would I need for a good fit?

Re:New wheels for my 2.. (purple5ive)

Yes, agreed that the rims you have Atm is smaller 15s and the newer ones are 17s
Going to 17s from 15s isn’t the issue
The issue is your current 15s are less wider than the newer 17s and also has higher offsets than the newer 17s
This will cause all sorts of problems with how the wheels sits inside the wheel well , wethere they will be closer to the struts or further away from the struts
Closer to the struts will cause the wheels or tyres to rub on the struts causing you issues when turning
Further away from the struts will cause issues with the wheels rubbing into your front fenders and destroying the tyres and front fenders, plastic wheel arch liners etc etc in the process
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (triadelite)

The sticker that I have posted there is a sticker from the 4 rims that i want to put on my car.. Im sure the stock ones (the ones I have on currently) are much smaller.
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (purple5ive)

triadelite

Here is the sticker and a pic of the rim/s

Are all 4 of them saying the same thing?
sometime the wheels are staggered which means fronts width is smaller than the rear width
the mr2 is from factory like that. (wider wheels in the back)
with that size on a stock (everything) car, it should fit depending on what size tyres are on it. might have some issues with the fronts test fitting them as other have mentioned is the best bet
cheers
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (triadelite)

neg camber? and yes they are all the same size
Would I need spacers for them so they dont scrape the coils?
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (Mrskylighter)

Are all four of them 18x8.5 +32?
That size on the front will poke out a little I think. Maybe some neg camber will make em fit???
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (triadelite)

Yes all the stickers show the same thing. I will need new tyres for them.. So im guessing the rear ones will stick out more if not a lot more if they do fit on?
Re:New wheels for my 2.. (chase_d)

Are all four wheels the same width (have same numbers on the stickers?)

If so The rear (IMO) may look a bit out of proportion to the front.

If that size is the same all round, you will be very close to the front suspension, and if you are running coilovers I am pretty sure a spacer will be required.
Re:New wheels for my 2..
