Not a great feeling considering we were on that same road only a day ago..
Re:First Run For 2013 - Sunday the 24th of February - President's Report (Grill)

On a rainy monday night it already feels so long ago!
Thanks for the pics
Re:First Run For 2013 - Sunday the 24th of February - President's Report (Eric)

Was a great start to the year! cant wait to see the rest of the photos that Dennis took when he and domma were shooting off past us all ;)
First Run For 2013 - Sunday the 24th of February - President's Report (tralfaz)

The first Run of the year was a huge success, with 16 cars and 29 people enjoying a great day out.
The lunch spot shown in the pictures gave us huge servings of food which obviously impacted badly on later performance with all the extra weight being carried after eating.
We had a few firsts, such as welcoming our youngest member so far. Hannah, aged nearly four, was navigating for her dad Jim in his white SDub, and did an excellent job. Hannah's counting skills are amazing.
Another first for this time of the year is we managed to completely avoid all the rain that is currently hanging around.
There were also a number of new cars and new members welcomed to the Club, including a two-tone AW11 belonging to Ash.
The ADubs appear to be making a bit of a comeback in Queensland against the SDubs, and seeing a wider spectrum of colours on Runs makes it much more interesting.
It was suspected a couple of years back that all the SDub owners were getting their cars re-sprayed red just to blend in, but we now seem to have both the black and white ones catching up.
I'd like to thank everyone who came on the Run for making it such a fun day out.
Given how well 2013 has started it can only get better.
Enjoy the pictures.
Walter
PS: The picture of the wheel is a secret racing prototype being developed by Knightrous to give the Club the advantage of quick change and better brakes. Being electrically operated the power drain proved too much for the SuperDub on our Run, or at least that's that story we heard from the tow truck driver.
