Yes you can notice it with out have to see both cars next to each other the guys at bosmens(corrected, 1S on there paper work. Will correct other post) made a comment on how the front are to the edge of, if not outside the front guards. With the camber the tops just sit in. But yes very plz' with bosmen's. All friendly all happy the listen to what you want. If they think something's questionable, they'll explain it To you. As a topic came up with little Z's rear wheels not having camber Bolts and he would be hating being nick named that hahaha.
Back to to bosmen, totally agree I should have just gone there when told to and that they are a top choice to just go to. Like me I didn't think the feel was right, guys had no problems tuning it up a little more, till it was right how I wanted it to feel. The guys even let me in the work shop to check on my HFH the oil bypass hose. A nightmare! But I did find a way to making they hose a hell of a lot easier. Do it on a hoist! Drop the aircon, out. Extra wait you don't need, block the remaining aircon lines to keep crap out of them. The hose and clip is right there in front of you then. Even on stands as high as the big floor jack could get it. It was still a pain to get at or see clearly.

I think you may have meant Bossman tyres?

I second them, they're the first shop to not go rouge on me and actually work with my main goal in mind.

I also agree your offset is much more aggressive than zues jnr.

5sgte. The offset is equal on all rims, positive. Don't have the numbers but there not as positive as the young lads rims and yes the front can easily be taken for as even less positive, as the wheels look out a lot further then the rear. Not sure why that is, there are no spacers on any of the wheels. So likely something it had done to it in its 26yrs.

Ok as I thought a few minor adjustments made and the feel, feels pretty dam good again. A big thanks to the guys down in Bosmen tyres, archerfield. they know there stuff, I recommend them to all. Taking the my glorious and Sanford side up the mountain. These tyres preformed as described in a test read up that I had read in them. Even with a bit of pushing it around a few of the corners to try breaking the grip a little. There was no success the RE003's gripped the road very nicely, cornering was more the a pleasurable ride with none of that oops feeling at all. Also the frontend never once felt like it was uncontrollable. Least while the tyres are new. So taking into account the tyres are new and new coilovers. These tyres preformed very well and yeah I'd say other then the price. (Which the boys down at bowman tyres, archerfield can match and even beat Bridgestones own prices) as stated there's a difference between a new tyre feel and the right feel. So I'm very happy so far with there performance so far with roughly 400klms on them so far. New challenge will be a wet day drive, to see how they preform in wet road conditions, then over the next months will see the wearing of the tyres. But very happy so far. Now I chose the 205/50/16, 225/50/16 as I get no speedo out, running 50's. I know this because I used a gps speed tracker to match the difference.

Now I know who you are haha. I was thinking my tyres weren't bald. Only the left front was. Tread was down on the right side and at least 40% tread in the rear. Rim offset I have no idea and would have to take one sides wheels off to check, you might recall from the day you were over. But Think it's pretty much zero, possible slightly positive on one end, As you know the rim size I think from the day you were over here was 7in maybe 7.5's. I got the alinement a camber set just needs a little playing with to improve. But I will update my thoughts again once done.(and remember they are just my thoughts. Each of us have our likes and dislikes. So don't take it as I'm saying the 003's are crap as far from it.) But the feel I was talking about is more the grip to the road if you know what I mean. A lot easier to explain on a bike. One brand you may feel like the bikes gonna flip if you lay it over to much, such as a basic tyre like Michelin pilot sports. Yet another brand such as metzeler's K2-3's(which I ran on all my ZX10's) will allow me to lay the bike over enough the run my knee blocks on the ground. So think of the same in a car only no laying over if that makes some sense to you. But yeah at a little speed, which I'll say was not on public roads to cover myself. She felt very unstable, far less then what it did. Another thing to consider I imagine is that it's been completely rebushed in all running gear bushes, so could be adding to the change in feel as well. Although it still felt far firmer with the semi slicks. For all I know the Bridgestone I went to could have put the tyres on the wrong rims if there was a diff in offset of the rims. I won't name the shop location as this is not a witch hunt. Just adding to a discussion on tyre feel. Don't you make me go down and take them wheels off to check. I've had them off and on so many times now, I wake up in the night screaming "F'ing wheels off again. I take it you heard about my HFH(hose from hell) with the oil coolant bypass hose. Not in a hurry to do that one again at all. Ended up dropping the aircon out and even then was a long tedious job to get both off and back on. But that's another topic.

Your old tyres were bald so the difference in feel with tyres at full tread will be massive. What offset are your wheels? Front offset was pretty aggressive from memory.

Well I got Bridgestone RE003 on. The DH at Bridgestone tells me yeah, yeah we've had mr2's and have a guy with a race car that gets his alinement and camber done every week blah, blah, blah. The guy comes out to me and says there's not camber adjust bolts in your car and you need them to adjust your camber. Cough, cough WFT! I say. You did notice there coilovers in the car right? Yes, well you see the plates on the tops and there an elongated hole on the top bolt of each base. He looked at me red faced and said oh is there. I said toe it to the minimal wear and leave it along. BLEEPING FOOL. took it down today to the guys at Archerfield they did it no probs. however the ride back home was not the best feel. The federal on the front, 205/50/16 and continental 225/50/16 I had on it, felt better in my opinion. But I'll take it back to the guys to toe it in a bit more, see if I can get a tamer line out of it. Feels like I've suddenly got the lightest power steering. In the 003 defence, they held the road well in both wet(very light sprinkle) and dry. Even when pushing it a little. But the feel just wasn't there for me. See how I feel after the extra toe added. Oh! Tyre size was the same as swapped out tyres.

yep same deal at the rear +35/9". Sounds like the 595RSR have a meatier sidewall. I found that when I was looking for semis for my track rims, I had to go a 205 40 16 as the 215 rubbed on the spring perch, they were Dunlop D03J.

You'll find the reason for that, Josh, is that the 595 has some pretty sizeable thickness in the sidewalls. Cheaper tyres have softer, thinner sidewalls that dont stick out as far.

I found this out when I changed from those crap SP9000s to the MA-Z1s. Hence why I ended up rolling my guards and cutting the seams to suit.

Now i'm back on the stock rims with semislicks and it doesn't matter how hard I push, i don't get any rub and the tyres cost less than RE002s to replace :D

Yeah slight scrubbing when the suspension is set to soft, I've had my inner lip beaten flat so it only just scrapes the side of the tyre over bumps at speed.
40 profile wasnt an option unfortunately.

What offset are your wheels? mine are +35/9" rears and with 235/40/17 Federal 595 RS-Rs, I have had to roll the inner guard lip AND attack the other 2 lips behind the side strips with a die grinder. It still scrubs a bit but only on large bumps at speed. They do run a bit wider than your average 235 which is probably half the issue.

Those prices are from Bridgestone Select at Wyoming (central coast) They are having a clearance at the moment apparently.

I just found 245/40R17 are available, but at $114 extra per tyre! Probably mean no scrub at all, but I'd rather deal with it for $228!

Thanks for the suggestion track_mr2, I had a look into the Michellin's but couldn't find them in my sizes.

Got a reply from Tyrerack that they are no longer allowed to ship Yokohama's to Australia so I rang my local Bridgestone and ordered some RE002. Everything I've found says they are an improvement on the RE001 which I can't fault so we will see how they perform after the weekend!

If anyone is interested I was quoted $225 ea for 215/40R17 and $198 ea for 235/45R17. Amazing prices if they perform as well as the 001!

I know the franchisee of a B-Select and he quoted me about 260 per tyre (book price) not even 2 hours ago!
