Can someone tell me if 215/45r17 fit under the standard front spring perch (sw20)

technically yes, but you'll get a horrible noise, smell of burning rubber and a high rate of inside tyre wear!
been there done that :(

Thanks for the replies. Just needed confirmation that they will fit as I have a set of wheels coming that I'm going to fit semi slicks to. Unfortunately these tyres don't come in 215/40. If they don't fit I'm going to have to go down the coilover route.

ill have to second the 215/40/17 size or 225/35/17 if you can get them or afford them.

I had them on mine when I first got it. Slight scub on full lock but was ok. But there is still difference between brands so some might not be ok
215/40/17 Is what you really need
