To chat and maybe plan an event to go for a cruise.

C&C (circuit and coffee) I was expecting powercruise but i got way more than I bargained for. No speed limit, lots of rain and well just a great atmosphere of good mainly jdm drivers. Deffs a recommend for anyone who hasn't been to a track and to get there feet wet.

This is a video of my friends which a good friend of mine made. We do DS meets and what not and starting our own website and what not soon.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0u7Jtv_lUo&feature=youtu.be
Re:DownShift Meets (Domma_aw11)

Well i saw a green sub, got beaten by him twice... I'm pretty familiar with the area so I should be able to find a suitable meetup spot.
Circuit and Coffee sounds good too. And I don't even drink coffee.<img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s1.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
Was that you that parked near me millsy101? And have been contemplating going to a downshift meet but never had the time or the effort to get down there yet! haha! Same style as the last one. Almost all the details are exactly the same, so if you missed the last one or enjoyed it, get on it and buy some tickets! Some changes are in RED below.

We've hired Queensland Raceway for an hour between 7:00 - 8:00am on 2 March 2013. We have to be off track at 8am on the dot, because there is another group after us again. That still gives us an uninterrupted 60 minutes in which you can go nuts and race your friends, cruise, skid down the straight, pretty much whatever you like, within reason.

If you want in, click here and book: http://downshiftaus.bigcartel.com. Would prefer you do it here rather than cash on the day, it takes just a bit too long to get through everyone, and I don't want people to miss out.

Some rules:
* Spectators are welcome to spectate for free
* ONLY street-registered vehicles permitted
* No protective gear is required such as long sleeves or helmet
* Let faster people go, don't hold anyone up
* Use your common sense
* Track layout will be the National Circuit, which is 3130m long. HEAPS of space.
* If anyone goes into the gravel on the back straight however, layout will be changed to Sprint Circuit (1930m). So DON'T COME OFF ON THE BACK STRAIGHT!!!
* Drivers and passengers are required to be THERE by 6:45am. This is because drivers' briefing is at 6:50am, to be on track by 7am.
* It's crucial to be on time guys, we absolutely have to be off the track by 8am SHARP, due to another group having a track day just after us.

National Circuit

Re:DownShift Meets (Ddubtoille)

I just checked with my brother he went in is stock 89 prelude so its slow but he wasn't watching the spedo but he did see atleast one time he was doing 140 and he sat as a passenger in my friends BMW and they did 170. I asked him if he remembered them saying anything about a speed limit and he said "they said you can go as fast as you want as long as you can stop before the turn" which is basicly word for word to what I just said so yeah I would be shocked if there was a speed limit cause I was pushing it as hard as I could probably doing 150-170 and having cars just walk on pass me as If I was sittin still (mainly this green Porsche thats a track car and a 1000+ hp skyline)

Re:DownShift Meets (Ddubtoille)

They never said anything about speed limits when I went, they said we can push it as hard as we want as long as you can still stop at the end of the straight. I definitely was doing over 130 and I had heaps of cars passing me

Re:DownShift Meets (Knightrous)

Ddubtoille

There's no speed limit just when you go around corners you can't overtake and you can't loose traction. So it isn't as fun as a lot of other ones but for the price it isn't that bad you get to go as fast as you can and race skylines, common whores, civics whatevers there, for people who go to the track regularly yeah I can imagine it isn't that great but for people like me its awesome

Must be some kind of enforced speed limit as I don't see QR allowing you to cannon ball around their track at 200km/h without a helmet on. I know at Power Cruise they have sections on the straight you can do "130km/h" but they are all between markers and outside of those zones it's all <80km/h and no over taking. This allows em to do street drags and crap without crashes.

You can see the zones as per this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUApn2joU3I
Re:DownShift Meets (Ddubtoille)

Due to the success of the last C&C meet, we're putting on a morning breakfast and happy laps meet at Queensland Raceway on the morning of Saturday, 3 December 2013. Same deal as last time, get out there and give your car a good thrashing in a safe, legal way!
Track time is between 7:00 and 8:00am sharp, since there is a group on-track after us. MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE AT 6:45am for drivers' briefing at 6:50am SHARP.

Just so everyone knows I made a mistake about the month it's march not feb (I was at work while I was typing and didn't bother to check I just didn't expect them to set it up this far in advance) its march 2nd or 3rd there seems to be a bit of confusion on the site also its not December obviously as it says above and on the site. I've sent a message to matyi checking, he is one of the guys in charge of downshift.
