I keep a spare set for when mine eventually die. If someone needed then desperately, i'd be happy to sell them.
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (WHITCHY)

How'd you go with this? I put up with no passenger window for almost 2 years before I finally pulled back all the wiring in my drivers door. Found 2 completely snapped wires and one that had split insulation.

Cut and re-soldered the wires with a bit of extra length so the soldered joints aren't flexing each time the door opens and closes.

Now both my windows work, along with the door lock / unlock button which only unlocked before the fix!

Definately worth the hour or two to fix properly!
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (Reddtarga)

Although it may not be your problem, check the wiring for continuity from the plug inside the body out to the window motor.
A common problem with SW20's is the wires break inside the flexible cover between the end of the door and the door post due to opening and shutting the doors over the years. Most common on the driver's side though.

Re:Need Help - Power Windows (dasic1)

Where abouts in Melbourne are youp

Re:Need Help - Power Windows (Godsent7)

haha thanks mate, and nah i've got a feeling it might be the motor.. it doesnt seem to make any noise when pressed.

i love these cars, but i've got a feeling ill be paying for it soon haha
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (Tree)

If the clicking noise is more like a clunking noise of glass, it's probably a window regulator. About $220 brand new. Gatesys SW20 on here works for Toyota now, he might be able to get it good price. But yeh check that other thing first (use BGB to troubleshoot)
Our cars are getting old, I would suggest getting a remote central locking unit (with alarm) since the locking/door opening mechanism may soon **** itself. Worse case scenario you might end up being locked in the car and find yourself crawling out the other door, like I did!
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (Godsent7)

you dont happen to live in melbourne do you? anyone in melbourne able to help? where would be the best place to take it too...
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (EssDub)

If you can find a local with a known working switch, just pop the plug out of yours and test their working switch. :)
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (Godsent7)

drivers door is perfectly fine, how do i test? what if it isn't ? whats the fix in that situation
Re:Need Help - Power Windows (EssDub)

Check that the passenger side window switch operates correctly. If this is not working, it will also stop the drivers control from working :)
Need Help - Power Windows (Godsent7)

Passenger side door window wont go back up - Motor mabye?
