Side skirt worked found out its a Aquamarine. Chase_D you were close except its not a pearl, doesn't say so on the laser scan sheet.

I will be buying a liter of it on Monday.

Aquamarine Pearl (AMP) is just the name of the colour for the MR2.
Did you get the paint?
If so, he would of given you a print out, what was the paint code? I imagine it still should be 842.

Re:Paint colour help. (Tool831)

chase_d
When you got the kit put on did you get the whole car painted?

Nah, they did a great job paint matching. Sadly they are on holidays so I can't get the paint number etc.

This is what they done:

Front , side skirts, rear pods
Repair / Repaint rust on right hand side 1/4 panel
Repair / Repaint rust on left hand side 1/4 panel
Repair / Repaint engine cover
Repair / Repaint left hand side engine cover
Repair area where the snorkel was

chase_d
I can guarantee you 100% the previous owner who was the first owner from Japan never had car painted. Unless it was painted in Japan?

Seems strange, I mean even the Spoiler Shop who done my bodykit, they tried the badge number where the spare wheel is and they said it was completely off. I never got to see what colour it was though.

chase_d
edit: got a bumper if you want to borrow, its not pretty or the same colour.

Thanks, though it's more then just a front bumper. My car requires the border bodykit bumper due to the mountings and my fender's are damaged the panel beater wants the Border kit so he can realign it all back with the front bumper on.
Car cannot be driven as the panel beater and painter need it at their warehouse.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update:
Took a sample from the broken side skirt in today, my brother in law locked the MR2 in his shed and was at work. Have the advantage of getting it all mixed there, and they are substantially cheaper then other supply shops.

edit: got a bumper if you want to borrow, its not pretty or the same colour.
PM me if you're interested.
Headlight cover would be better then the fuel cap as fuel cap still has a bit of a curve to it.
Re:Paint colour help. (Tool831)

Reddtarga

You could take in the filler cap cover or popup H/lamp cover as a sample to get it color matched.

That is true, as Chase_D said about the place in Cannington. I gave them a call they did say it has to be a dead flat piece to take a sample from. I will be going to the place today to see if they can paint match, good idea Redtarga for the idea of removing the headlamp cover. I'd imagine that should be flat enough. <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s4.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />

I'll keep everyone updated and see what happens.
Re:Paint colour help. (Tool831)

Yeah the code apparently doesn't match the car in the tyre well. This is where it is a "the hell..." moment. I will have the chase up this place in cannington, although since the car cannot be driven I may have to see if they could come around.

It's really crap driving a bloody van around. <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/icon_smile_dead.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
Re:Paint colour help. (REDMR2RED)

Sounds like this MR2 has be re-painted and might just be a color the owner preferred. Any spray painter or paint shop should be able to color match if you take in a small part. Even if you got the exact paint code, after 20 years you need to allow for paint fade, etc.
Paint colour help. (Tool831)

Hey all,

Hoping some of you could help me out, anyone who might have proper idea with MR2's. I am trying to track down my car colour code, anyone know how I can narrow this down? I checked the badge in front inside my hood it's different to my actual car paint. I had to scratch my head at that.

Going through a 1993 Toyota list there is two colours that could be mine.

Code: 6J7 - Forest Green Metallic
Code: 6K2 - Dark Green Metallic

Reason I ask is purely this: A family member took my car out for a xmas cruise (I was passenger) either way, Long story short. Ended up through a fence thanks to a mastiff dog (Dog was not hurt at all) I need a new bumper and painted, however need to narrow down this code to work off. Cosmetic damage and family member who pranged my precious is fixing everything for me. The whole front end needs to be repainted. 2 new side skirts and front bumper are coming from Queensland.

The bodykit place I originally got my bodykit done by and managed to colour match are away on holidays until next year. It is important I get it on the road again, not for the sake of me. My mechanic's mate who is a painter wants to try and match but wants something to work off. He hasn't seen a MR2 before so his idea's for this colour are harder then we all thought. <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/icon_smile_tongue.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />

Trust me it is very very sad to see my MR2 pranged. It's like a horrible nightmare, MR2's have really grown on me since owning one. I just love it, infact I wear my MR2 shirt all the time.. <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s1.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
