Are they retained or should they just slide out with a little wiggling?

Re:Would a jap fuel rail work on a aus 3sge (artymr2)

If you can get the banjo back on, you could get its outlet welded up and that will be a good seal.

Or if the thread in the rail is stuffed, you could retap a new thread and block it off.

Cheers

Re:Would a jap fuel rail work on a aus 3sge (Reddtarga)

Does the thread in the rail still look ok, and can you refit the original banjo bolt and banjo and still tighten it up ok?

Are you sure the bolts you used were the right thread?

Re:Would a jap fuel rail work on a aus 3sge (Gatesys SW20)

So blocking the rail didnt work. Just kept pushing the bolt out no matter what washer I had, (think port may be cross threaded no idea how it happened but I took it out and bolted it back in perfectly.. I spent numerous years working on bikes with my dad and doing some local work with a mechanic so I do know how to put a bolt in without stripping the thread, even tried a different bolt still wouldn't work.

So will a Japanese rail work? Will it all match up mounting points etc
Head location? Will it be a straight swap?

Re:Would a jap fuel rail work on a aus 3sge (Gatesys SW20)

I see, but by the looks the started is wired into the ecu and the csi switch is wired into the started as toyota told me it runs from a cranking signal and not directly controlled by the ecu

Yeah I think I'm going to just block the port, what do you mean by taping up the connector?

Re:Would a jap fuel rail work on a aus 3sge (Reddtarga)

"I know the csi runs off a timing switch not controlled by the ecu"

I am no expert, but going by the Gen2 3SGE EFI schematic (see pic), that may not be correct.

However as suggested, you may be able to get away with blocking the fuel rail port and taping up the connector.

Re:Would a jap fuel rail work on a aus 3sge (Gatesys SW20)

Wasn't sure you could do that safely? Will this work?
Thanks
