They have 10 tenths premium 5 for the same price as Supercheap has 10 tenths racing.
Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (worldwalker)

Penrite recently changed their line up, I think the synthetic 5 is now called 10 tenths premium 5. I'd be interested to see how the new fully synthetic HPR 5 goes, I've heard good things and after speaking with a few people in the field have gone with their transgear for my E51, fingers crossed.
Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (Tree)

Just when I thought I had read all about oil sigh...lol
Good find dude
Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (Gatesys SW20)

Just saying
Royal purple should pay me a commission just got 2 new customers for them..

No I have nothing but good things to say about there oil only bad thing was the price tag
But that test just shows what you pay for..

Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (Ant1)

Wow, that's very interesting. Never thought the brand of oil would make that much difference. I actually seen Royal Purple oil at Auto Barn the other day and it was $90 or so and I thought to myself pffffft as if lol, but after seeing that I'm going to give it a go once I get my turbo fixed.

Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (robk)

My daily often burns through its oil in less than a month, so maybe I could drain the relatively new oil in my MR2 (Elf something or other) and use it to top up my daily haha. Then I would have an excuse to try Royal Purple now instead of waiting for my scheduled oil change in the MR2, which only had an oil change very recently.
Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (Gatesys SW20)

Didn't realise it was that old wow
But I have searched quite extensively and that's the best I've found yet,

Yeah I know that oils have changed but royal purple has had positive effects for me even at the price to see the results from that test make me even happier that my money's going to a good product :)

And yeah I'd stay away from edge or castrol in general
It was in for two weeks and drank nearly a litre and I have no engine oil leaks
So I drained it put this in so far so good :)

Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (MCT_MR2)

god I haven't seen that article since I was an apprentice. from memory, that article was from 2005. most of the oils are different now to back then, but it was an interesting test.

gatesy, I have never seen as much oil consumption and engine failure issues as I have with castrol edge. I wouldn't use it in my worst enemies car.

Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (Gatesys SW20)

Yeah that was one they missed I noticed actually

Also surprised they didn't have like a woollies/Coles brand in there just to compare brands with no brands

Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (MRTurbo)

Needs to have Nulon synthetics in the test too :)
Re:The end result of a test of performance motor oil (Gatesys SW20)

To be honest I was using castrol gtx the.
