Do they not make a flexible type filler for bumpers and the like? It could just be primer though, but definitely recall hearing something about different products for flexible items. Might be worth investigating.

I might grab a tin of body filler and experiment on a wreck, seem like the only way to find out.
I've seen some cool things made out of body filler, so thought this might be an application it could handle.

Having removed and replaced my C pillar trims in the past, I simply can't imagine how they could be replaced with body filler, at least not without far too many hours finishing it properly given how they wrap around the pillars. If the filler is too thick (more than a few millimeters), it is very likely to lead to cracks in the paint in time too due to different rates of expansion the filler and paint have.

On the basis that anything different is going to look, well, "different" - how about a trip to Clark Rubber to see what width of edging they have? It's possible they will have something similar, a combination of that and what's left of the corner trims might do the job. Just a thought . . .

I'm an sdub boy so not 100% what the trim looks like but could you 'glass it?

Unfortunately they are still quite expensive ($150+), and are just as old as the broken ones I have (So they will break soon enough).
I can buy some brand new OEM ones from Twos'r'us, but they are US$555....
I'd rather fix them permanently for <$100, hence the query into body filler :)

Why not just buy a set of used ones which arn't broken?

This is probably a question for the guys who have done a bit of body work, but has anyone ever considered replacing their broken C-piller trims with body filler that is shaped to match the trim contour? I've pretty much destroyed the trims on my AW11 while fitting my cf visor, I want the car to look semi decent for the MR2 Challenge, so I'm thinking it might be easier to just make permanent trims out of body filler. I'm just not sure if the filler will end up cracking and falling apart or if it will do the job.
