You could Try pm'ing "smeetsie". He has a few mr2's that last i heard were advertised locally through one of the car clubs in SA. He is a very knowledgeable guy that would be honest in the condition of any of his vehicles

I know the feeling. My engine and transmission rebuild cost alone could almost pay for the 20v, but at least I know my SC will be like new again inside the engine bay, which will compliment my chassis and paint.
Spike's SC looks very nice and has a few goodies I hear, hopefully you can negotiate a decent price with him.

Maj, Yeah I did see that one, but I'm definately set on the SC idea. I feel I'm getting old " /> I find clean examples of good old cars far more appealing than the mods these days.

There's also one owned by a Toymods/Canberra Celica group member here in ACT for sale. Black locally delivered sunroof one with a Silvertop 20v conversion. No rust and drives really nicely. Fairly tidy as adubs go, nothing preventing it being worthwhile holding onto it (Secretly the owner does want to hold onto it but his wallet doesn't agree right now).
$4,200 was his latest asking price. I know it's not what you were after but the 20v's don't have much issues keeping up with SC's around corners.

@ maj, cheers for that, just a couple too many issues with that one for me. The price is not bad though (depending on extent of rust is suppose).

There's a blue one on Toymods currently for 2k in VIC provided it's a quick sale.
Car isn't in the tidiest condition since it's been off the road for years but the owner is very competent mechanically so what he has listed you can be sure are the only issues you'll find with it.

sorry its an 86 Hardtop supercharged manual white, 135kms jdm import. Been in storage for most of its life. Not too sure on price atm.

I actually have a pair of Supercharged models, though I don't plan to keep both long term.
Anyhow, I could probably be tempted to part with my midnight blue car, in the new year. She's an 88 model with targas and fairly nice. Not immaculate, but as these guys have pointed out not many are. It's running, but not rego'd at the current time. Where abouts are you located?
