Ok, I'll have to keep an eye out for a cheap turbo one then. Thank you. I'm not in any rush atm, just gathering info and waiting for the right part for price. I'm waiting till my summer break to get it roadworthy and mobile again.
I bought it from Sydney about a month ago, so I'm not sure. It's white, with blue fenders and black nose if that helps.

i have plenty of experience that shows the NA box wont stand up to a hard driven V6.
did you buy the car i did a bit of work on recently???

Sorry to bring up an old thread again, but I've bought a mr2 with a 1mz converted V6 that's in need of a new gearbox. I've been told the torque of the v6 is to much for the NA box, and the only reliable replacement is a turbo e153 box. Is that true? Would it mince a NA box if I did a clutch dumping launch? It's currently on 130rwkw, planning on more in time.

thanks, 91 is early single syncro. i was chasing something later to strip for parts I needed , but have since found the bits i need for that job
if anyone else has a 93 onwards box, let me know.

Have 91 NA box with 100,000 kms on it when removed from car. Been sitting for 3 years now?
