(3sgeTurbo)

Yeah mine was giving me to much trouble so I ditched it permenatly,

I just let the car run for a few seconds after I drive it and it's fine, my engine is heavily modified and I have never cooked the oil in the turbo.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (Mrskylighter)

Well there you go, remove the bottom plastic trim piece under the steering wheel and trace the turbo timer wires. You might find some dodgy wiring near the ignition switch? And as mentioned above, unplug the timer wiring if possible?
You might as well remove it permanently?
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (3sgeTurbo)

Well if defiantly sounds like this could all be related to the wiring in the steering column, maybe some wiring has been damaged? Could also explain your broken horn,

It all runs into the same wiring loom as the turbo timer
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (sredze)

I just spoke to the mechanic and he said he started having issues starting the car after the steering wheel change. So that means it must be in within the steering column area, underneath the steering column trim and the wiring with the turbo timer which may have been affected during the wheel change.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (sredze)

its an apexi turbo timer, with the little ball to the right of the display. I am not sure if this helps towards figuring it out, but i got the mechanic to do a steering wheel replacement as well, dont think i mentioned that earlier. The horn doesnt work, but the day i drove the car back home from the workshop it drove and turned pretty good.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (3sgeTurbo)

It really depends on how your turbo timer was installed, is it one of those cheap no brand timers with 4 buttons (two each side) and red led display?

Take off your steering column trim and try to find how they installed the timer, some have a adaptor to plug into the ignition barrel loom and some are just soldered into the existing wiring, if it is the plug type just remove it then try start the car.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (sredze)

I did this last week and it only worked that one time... unplugging the ecu now and trying to start it doesnt work either. That time though the car was idling pretty good. As i said in an earlier post, i couldnt drive it around a bit becuase it was behind a double parked car.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (Mrskylighter)

So when it starts after unplugging the ecu does it idle/rev/drive fine?
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (sredze)

hmmmm thanks mate. Will def look into it more. Are you saying to disconnect the turbo timer wiring? The mechanic did say that after he played around with the turbo timer settings, the car would eventually start. I have tried turning the turbo timer to off, but with no success. The one time the car did start straight away was when I unplugged the ecu and plugged it back in, though as soon as i turned the car of and tried to start it again, the same issue.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (3sgeTurbo)

A BOV or Intercooler would not make the car turn off once its running,

I have seen the same problem before on a MR2 and it was the turbo timer,

Think about this: what is the one modification that you have that directly interferes with your starting system? The turbo timer.
I would start by removing that, then start checking other items and through process of elimination you can find the fault.
Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (sredze)

Yeah it is. There is a black cap tightly on it. The mechanic said he plugged it up. The issue has to be electrical with the ignition coil/circuit or the ecu not recieving the igf signal.

Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed. (sredze)

Ok so here are the photos of the air intake area. I also inspected the ecu to see if there was any leaky capacitors or anything else faulty but it all looks ok.

http://i1355.photobucket....G_0104_zpse6e3295a.jpg
http://i1355.photobucket....G_0100_zps87786e3f.jpg
http://i1355.photobucket....G_0099_zps969d3565.jpg
http://i1355.photobucket....G_0101_zpsd0998131.jpg
http://i1355.photobucket....G_0102_zps001ad5e8.jpg
http://i1355.photobucket....G_0103_zpsbf6252f2.jpg

Re:1993 MR2 SW20 Turbo doesnt want to start....PLease Assistance Needed.
