Hi,
I was just checking as to weather the car is ment to make less boost in first gear. Basically my boost controler doesn't have settings for each gear so if I set 15psi but the factory waste gate is designed to open earlier like 8psi in first instead of 10psi in other gears or whatever the values are, I'd only make 13psi in first. Boost controller is only bleeding off pressure to trick the computer and factory wastegate actuator......just wanted to make sure its right to get less boost in first.

13 psi is standard boost, however the factory boost controller will limit this in first gear, can't recall the figure but about 5-8 psi sounds about right.

Also if anyone is running a boost controller could they let me know if thye make full boost and what boost they get in first and second?

If you have a boost controller you basically set boost to whatever you like, do you mean boost gauge? Generally the factory boost controller will be unplugged/bypassed when installing an aftermarket one, so it will no longer restrict boost in first gear.

pretty sure with a gen 3 its 15 psi
mine hits about 13 psi in second gear but I think I have a boots leak somewhere.

I thought it was 12-13psi with the stock boost controller.
10psi would be when running just on the standard actuator. (direct hose between turbo and wastegate)
With a simple gated bleeed valve, mine was getting 14psi at around 4000rpms, in all gears.

Hi,

Does anyone know what boost a Gen 3 MR2 Turbo should be producing stock in each gear?
I believe they are suppose to make 10psi max boost factory but does anyone get that in first and second gear?
I would think second gear should definately get it.
Also if anyone is running a boost controller could they let me know if thye make full boost and what boost they get in first and second?
