Yes, it's a non-interference engine (unless it's got aftermarket cams which I doubt).

My daughter's 1988 AW11, 4AGE with 350,000 kms, konked out last night. I suspect the timing belt has snapped.
The engine seems to be cranking ok, but I just wanted to know whether there might be engine damage, such as bent valves.
My understanding is that the 4AGE is a non interference engine. Is this correct?
It also might be time be for a replacement engine or a rebuild. IDB comes to mind (I am based in Melbourne) as Ian rebuilt my 3SGTE.
Anyone have a 4AGE engine that is is good nick to sell? Please let me know.
