if you can come up with another grand i'm trying to get rid of mine as i need a 4 seater and its not a problem waiting to happen, i just need to get rid of it. i'd love to keep it. it has been the most reliable car i've ever had. serviced every 5000km always run on 98. great car for the money. my loss is your gain. located in qld, maryborough.

I've got an 89 model turbo targa import that I'll be trying to get rid of. I bought it to swap body parts with my NA so the front bar and side intake panels and boot and engine lid don't have the best paint but the rest of the body is good.

Engine wise it needs a bit of work though. Fair few oil leaks and a cooling problem so would suggest swapping another engine in.

I'm happy to let it go for $1500 which will leave you with a bit left to do work on it.

Have to agree with all the above statements if you are looking for a half decent car, let alone half decent turbo. What state are you in?

Ive bought one for approximately that price and its been in my garage ever since.
Spend more and get a better example unless you have A plenty of time B knowledge to fix C spare car D want to take a risk..and so on.
Cheap is lnt good, good isnt cheap -) GL

You might be lucky to get a non turbo for $4k. But keep looking you might come across one that needs work.

sorry probably wasn't the most helpful comment but honestly, unless you want a run down car with loads of mechanical issues that will cost you a lot more in maintenance I'd consider another car. Nobody is going to want to sell a good example of an mr2 for sub $7000 - I would steer clear of any turbo car unless you save up some more cash, they're really not cheap
