(the_random_hero)

Righto: Eyelids are $100 for the set, they are quite intricate to make because they are more three-dimensional than the other pieces so cost a bit more. Will reuse the factory mounting plate that's on top of them.
Rear taillight trim - the large piece that sits between the lights. Not sure if there's much interest in it, $250
C pillar trims - have only got quotes on the side pieces (as I'm still waiting for the top piece). It's going to be OEM-fitment and the easiest way to get it is a combination fibreglass/carbon fibre. Will be around the $400 mark for the set (as there is a lot of work to get the mounts correct).
Side vent: $250, will be a 1-piece design with a scoop for extra air-flow into the engine bay.

I have till the end of the week to see what interest there is and say what pieces to go ahead with. If I can't get 5 people at least interested, then the parts won't go ahead. After enough sell for me to cover the money I've personally put into this, then I will put money into a boot/modified engine bay lid and modified bonnet (which I am making at the moment).

Re:AW11 + Carbon Fibre = Yes please! (the_random_hero)

TBH I have no idea what is required for different states. I know people who have been busted for CF boots, and people who have gotten away with CF roofs (on a S2000) - I think it will all come down to the luck of the draw. I have a lot of doubts my car will ever be registered due to all the completely safe but also completely illegal modifications I've done to it, so more than likely it won't be applicable to me.
Re:AW11 + Carbon Fibre = Yes please! Especially the visor, eyebrows, and engine lid.
Re:AW11 + Carbon Fibre = Yes please! (the_random_hero)

Dropping stuff off in half a hour, along with almost a grand for mould costs. Eyelids and the large plastic trim between the taillights are getting moulded too.
We're trying to come up with a way to mould the engine lid to increase room (especially for engine conversion guys) and cooling, doing it similar to the SW carbon fibre ones with two large vents would be ok with everybody?

Re:AW11 + Carbon Fibre = Yes please! (Calus001)

Awesome, keep me updated. I'm expecting a quote from c7 with "The best prices the mannager could give me since I was part of the group buy" On C pillars and a visor, as well as a front lip. If you guys are certain this is gonna go ahead, I'll do it with you guys. It's just I've seen plenty of CF AW11 part projects start up and then lose momentum without anything to show for it.

Anyways, even if it came out to about the same, I'd rather put my money into the MR2 community than a bunch of sell-out scalpers in San Diego. And your visor idea sounds really cool.
Re:AW11 + Carbon Fibre = Yes please! (the_random_hero)

Right - hadn't heard any of that information but sucks to hear dude! This is definitely going ahead, I am just trying to get some time off to go down to see my mate who is doing all this (I've been working 6 days a week for the past few months, it's absolutely killing any car motivation I've had). In all honesty $41 for postage isn't -that- much, but 45 pounds is a complete load of ****!
Can do eyebrows too, not a worry. I'll go remove them and add them to the pile of stuff I have to take down - yes a boot/spoiler and engine bay lid too. I guess I could ship to the US but have no idea on what costs would be, seeing as though his prices are better than C7 by a mile on most of the stuff it would probably end up being cheaper still.
