When's the next meet?

Re:FS or swap: Tein Coilover for stock suspension (bigh)

you should come to a meet - maybe consider the BC coilovers.. I've got them in my car - and I very much like them :)
Re:FS or swap: Tein Coilover for stock suspension (Swerg)

As for model, not sure, my guess based on the functionality is SS, everything's adjustable, single damping control on the top, but doesn't have the large nut on the lower part of the strut to lower/raise without changing the piston stroke, that seems to come in the next model up.

I'll get some photos tomorrow and I'll see if there's any part numbers.

- Ben

Re:FS or swap: Tein Coilover for stock suspension (Swerg)

Yeah I can adjust everything, the spring rate is just too high, so to control them the damping is pretty high too,

I'd contemplated ordering a softer spring, but the minimum you can get is still far stiffer that the Tein 'stock' lowered springs, which I'm sure would be more compliant at about 2/3rds the coilover rate. Additionally I'm hoping to do all this at nil net cost :-)

As for kms, I'll check the receipts, however the car only has 120k on it so unless they were a swap at the showroom my guess is not too many. Everything certainly works well, the damping click adjuster on one has broken off thanks to a wayward spanner, presently set with a small allen key which works just fine. Additionally new adjusters are cheap, and I'd be happy to order and fit a new one if required.

- Ben

Re:FS or swap: Tein Coilover for stock suspension (rb_love)

What model tein - how many kms on them, pics??

Re:FS or swap: Tein Coilover for stock suspension (bigh)

You can't adjust the stiffness of the ride at all?
FS or swap: Tein Coilover for stock suspension (Swerg)

Hi All,

I've posted this all over the shop now, but it kind of fits for sale, wanted and suspension...

I've got a set of Tein coilovers in my '91 GT which ride too hard for the daily driving I'm doing, so looking to get a set of stock struts and springs back underneath it.

So I guess the Teins are for sale, or for swap if you have some decent stock suspension, preferably with gland nut (ie not welded/sealed) shocks.

Cheers,

- Ben
