Thank you, yea it was gl4 with the recommended weight i believe is 75/90 i think the sycro is just in need of replacement.

Good work on getting it running again.
Sounds like 2nd gear synchro gone, but what oil did you put in the trans? I hope it was a GL4.

Hey guys I know it's been a while but here it is.

I've come to realize that the mr2 is a on going project but at least it's on the road. I have a few small problems though, I believe all my shocks are in need of replacement, I put in new trans oil and i have a bit of fun when changing into 2nd gear (feels like the syncro is on its way out) when I downshift I get gear crunching and when accelerating hard from 1st to second it also crunches. And some small problems here and there. Otherwise this car is very fun to drive and is definitely a good driving experience.

yeah my dad and I did the spray job cost us pretty much nothing except the money we are giving for $60 paint and we are paying the guy for using his booth which he didn't want us to but i'll give him like $200 for using his stuff:) can't wait to see what it's like when it's done... won't be long

here are the promised photos :)

I will take some more as i put it together I just had a new windshield installed today and have put most of it together. Just need to put the handles, driver and passenger windows and that's just about it for the exterior.

It's been a long time since i've been here but i'm going to post some photos of the car tomorrow as it's getting a new window put in tomorrow and the car was painted sunday. It's starting to come altogether hopefully I can have it on the road soon 23 days until i'm 18 haha.

I'd suggest to buy a used climate control and slot it in.

Probably end up saving money and definately save time. Theres no shortage of cars being parted out here!.

Hey guys just ran into some minor problems with my climate control unit. When i slide it to the left it feels like it's getting caught, but the switch seems to dig in and cause this feeling so i took it apart and a ball bearing fell out i'm wondering whether there was supposed to be 2 ball bearings on the knob so it doesn't catch. So I can move the slider to the left when I stick my finger down the right side of the knob and push to the left I can get it to about half way but no further... Any thoughts?

is this sliding between hot and cold,or the switch (off,auto,lo..hi)?

I would still like someones opinion on the problem above, but I would like to say my car is very close to being painted (black again) we will do it ourself though because we know we can do a better job than those cheap ass spray painters. Also I bought a LED map light replacement kit didn't read it properly and it only came with 1 LED light haha not very happy.
