you will struggle to buy a caldina box for under $1000 on its own.

Hi Terry,
I do need another box in my 185 as mine has a worn synchro on 3rd though I don't have any available funds at the moment and it's still driveable, so not super urgent. I'm also not looking forward to taking the engine and box out again. I only just put it all back in after a cheap engine rebuild though I didn't know the condition of the gearbox.
I was just wondering what a Caldina box is worth and also if it is a direct replacement.

i will only consider spliiting off the box if i have a taker for the engine. chase the other guy who posted here and lets do a deal

it will physically fit into a 185

you wouldn't, you'd just bolt up the mr2 gearbox.

it requires completely rebuilding the gearbox and mix/matching parts with an mr2 box.

What would it take to mod the gearbox to run in 2wd and have it work in a SW20?

very low km ST215 caldina 3SGTE complete engine, gearbox, loom & ECU $2850. This engine should make a nice upgrade in a SW20, with suitable changes to the top mount intercooler. for more info, call me, but it is basically a Gen 3 turbo engine, distributorless, bigger oil pump, top mount air intercooler. i would consider taking off the gearbox
