Needless to say, I was quite unimpressed.

I had planned to work on it straight away, get all the parts and fix it with the thought of still getting it painted.
However, I crashed my motorbike a few days later after the cat incident and broke 2 ribs, partial dislocation of my hip, tore my groin and destroyed my ankle which meant I've had not time to work on it :(

However, now that I'm able to physically work on it, I've managed to get all the required parts (a HUGE plug for mrmr2 (Josh) - the guy is awesome when it comes to getting parts) and so will attempt to get this car back on the road this weekend.

I also got the larger turbo radiator with fan shroud - my NA was still in there but I never had a problem with overheating.

I've already removed the front bumper, radiator and condenser.

To do:
Install - new radiator lower support, radiator, AC condenser.
Flush and bleed cooling system with Toyota Red, check and then re-bleed.
Get AC re-gased
Install bumper and lip
Wash and polish - it is filthy atm.

Drive :)

A few pictures...

Once I get it all back together and driving fine, maybe...just maybe, I can seriously look at getting it painted!

RE: MIDN1T3 (MIDN1T3)

So after trying to find a replacement center cap for my front right wheel (and having no luck), stumbled onto one after a friend had bought an MR2 up from Sydney.

She had lost three, so traded me the last remaining one for some advice when she installs a turbo engine - trying to convince her to get a Gen 3 3sgte.

Here's her MR2 - SW20 N/A widebody.

This is the centre cap - its been painted flat black but I'll see if turps can get it off, otherwise I may end up painting all my centre caps black to make them match.

To do list this weekend:
- replace front wheel bearings
- install new spark plugs, fuel filter, oil and oil filter, clean air filter
- clean/paint centre cap/s
RE: MIDN1T3 (MIDN1T3)

Mr2qik - I have a 11 inch fan on the bottom 'pushing' From my experience with that kinda setup, you'll really need a thermofan on top (pull). I monitored temps with mine (when a2a) & it was quite stable/good on the street compared to a sidemount. With over 300rwkw, it only really struggled on the dyno, handled street driving quite well. When my fan fuse blew, there was a clear increase in intake temps.
RE: MIDN1T3 (MIDN1T3)

A few pics after washing and waxing the car this weekend...can't wait until it gets painted in a few months, still too much humidity and rain up here.

However, sometime in the last month one of the centre caps came off my front right wheel. Devastated...spent like about 4 hours emailing and calling places all over Aus to see if I could get a replacement - no luck :(

RE: MIDN1T3 (MIDN1T3)

So dropped by Super Crap Auto and managed to get the last black 200mm coupler in stock...for $15. There is one similar to my set up that Atsracing sell but it's $1200!! Also, I've decided I like those inserts I got off you. Went for a decent drive today and liked the feel of the engine when accelerating. :)
Finally, where did you get your coupler from? Want to get rid of the joiner.

Deco - thanks mate. I don't have any real proof yet but I would say it is better than a side mount set up. A lot of air gets moved upwards through the engine bay and it's nowhere near as close to the dump pipe any more. And the 11 inch Spal fan helps.

RE: MIDN1T3 (Deco)

Nice fabrication job!
