If you want the best replacement 5x7 headlight available get the model 8900 LED light made by J.W Speaker in the USA. This company makes quailty lighting products so this is not some cheap Chinese designed rubbish.

They have a version to suit driving on the left side of the road with the required approvals ECE/DOT etc. Only problem is that they are roughly $550 per light :)

They are very impressive though.

I want to upgrade my head lights as well but I'm not sure I can justify $1000 or so haha

If you want better headlamps have you considered new modern high quality conventional design semi-sealed units.

They should be better than 20 yo OEM lens/reflectors, and are certainly vastly superior to the old sealed beams fitted prior to '92, but with these you only get what you pay for.
I fitted Hella units with high quality lead crystal lens/reflectors.
Hella part no 1043, combined with Phillips extreme vision +100% globes - fantastic lights!!

I have found that not all mr2 owners realize that modern headlamps have a sharp cutoff on low beam with the beam rising to the left to eliminate blinding oncoming drivers, and to illuminate signs, pedestrians etc.
However with lens/reflectors in LHD countries the beam rises on the opposite side so don't buy these from the US or Europe - safer to buy in Aust.

haha yeah I know what you mean WOB, is easy to get carried away with spending...
have probably dropped about 3-4k on my car since I got it - all those little things add up;)
hey come to think of it, maybe I need those raybrigs lol

Yep ive managed to talk myself out of spending monies for the sake of spending it. Ill be washing the car tonight and put in the halogens on the weekend if i get time.

I'm going to look into this in the near future but budget restrictions are ruining my life atm too :(

havent got them yet, was checking to see if someone like your yourself had experiance with them. ill try scottsd idea and put OEM and a big ole polish and clean up.

then the oem is very good with new globes, i put new globes into the ones you bought, and u will see (unlsess they made improvments) that the vision u get from the lights are next to nill, thats why i went for the projectors... it was a cheap upgrade for me after buying the new lights like yous... but please try them, they might be better than the ones i picked up, but the look identical.. thats only why i have posted about this..

wasent set on the projector bit just i have a new set of halogens and wanted to get the most out of them. would the ebay ones be better then oem or should i keep oem with my new globes?

the ebay ones suck man, i bought some a while ago, but in black and just was terrible, but if you mode them, they come up good, this is what i did, i took the clear lense off and cut a bigger hole in the housing and put projectors in!! best money i spent...

but i do like to raybrig ones rds has, but i just wanted somthing different, thats all
