It's a stand alone unit that is currently only ready for the Mazda MX5's VVT system, but they are talking about expanding that to include the cam wheels of other vehicles (IE, if you send them the 2GR cam sensor patterns, they will probably add it). Could work out to be a cheap solution when coupled to a MS3.
RE: gathering interest atm for complete 3vz conversion (matt234)

Hi.
l think that for the front engine mount that was used by road and track is good, but l,m going to try something different and l think easier to do . l,ll let u know how that works out.
. As for the computer l,ve got a friend at petroject that might be able to disable all of that security stuff key transponder etc . If not , l know the guys at wolf and they have already fitted their ecu to another mr2 with the 2gr and are tuning it as we speak . should know more after the weekend.
the exhaust headers that frankenstein make look like a good thing and price seems fine ,maybe we could get 2 pairs a bit cheaper?.
Cheers Charlie

Thats probably the best news i've heard all year. What am I missing?

As far as i know there is a difference in them... and thats about all i know. Unfortunately i didnt do any of the work myself and didnt witness the box going on so im just going by what i was told and read. If you get an opportunity when you get a 2gr it'd be good to see your findings on it all.

dutchyvandongen - So far most guys have gone to a 3.6 final drive rather than the mr2's 4.2. From the info ive been given on my box it also has a 3.6 final and im not sure but i believe the camry and mr2 gears can be interchanged. Would maybe be worth trying to find a v6 box.

RE: gathering interest atm for complete 3vz conversion (v6mr2)

Beats me as well toten

RE: gathering interest atm for complete 3vz conversion (-Totenkopf-)

I still dont get why it has to be a 93+ gearbox. I'll have to keep that in mind. What sort of a price goes along with that? You had me worried for a while there.

If you know, what are the ratios in the Turbo box like standard with the 2GR? Would any need changing at all? I haven't really heard of anyone doing it so wouldn't expect so, but any recomendations on that before it all bolts in?

Most guys in the US/UK have changed their final drive ratios as they've all found 1st and 2nd run out too quick. Mine is supposed to be a fair bit longer but i still find id like a bit more. I'll be shortly raising my rev limiter to something like 7200rpm.

RE: gathering interest atm for complete 3vz conversion (dutchyvandongen)

Ahh, that's cool, mine will be fine then. What was the issue? I ask as I have the Turbo gearbox in my garage to put in.

The issue was that it was a 92 lsd gearbox. I MUST be a 93+ gearbox. On mine we used a manual v6 camry box(its still a e153) because it has longer gear ratios.

RE: gathering interest atm for complete 3vz conversion (Senol)

quote:

Sorry, but I prefer spirits, slabs of vodka?
