Hmmm, been a while since I updated this place, so lets blog this out. Will try to keep this MR2 related.

Designed a part for my V6 and had it cnc'd by a mate.

Fits nicely onto the factor 1MZ lower intake manifold.

I bought a CNC router. More MR2 parts to be made!

Bought a hardtop for the ZZW30.

Washed the dust off an old friend.

Someone wrote the Impreza off properly this time.

Goodbye and good riddance to the soft top.

Made a 3D printed equal length exhaust I had designed.

Replaced the worn suspension on the ZZW30 with some BC coilovers.

Made some parts on the CNC.

Bought a replacement for the Impreza to fill the requirement for a parts/friends hauler.

More of this CNC stuff, throttle body flanges for a customer.

When I sold the blue AW11, I ordered it's replacement. A blue belly hoist!

Legnumis Levatatus! It lifts approximately 120cm, which is just boarder line hitting the roof of the garage!

I've been looking at make ITB's for my MZ motors for a while, this was a quick 44mm throttle I made for a test of concept.

I then made a 'half bank' version.

I also made an EGR cooler block off plate for the 1MZ block, this one is going to JZXWorks for their 1MZ X83 budget drift car.

Installed the best mod on the ZZW30 yet... a light bar. Just in time for an interstate trip and it was brilliant.

DailyDub is working it's way towards needing new set of tires and I'm not enjoying trying to find decent tires in the double staggered sizes (185/55R15 & 215/45R16) using a single brand/model of tire. More on this later.

Tripped over these for a bargain online, Lenso D1SP 15X7.5" +35

As I wanted them on the car on the weekend and no had concentric rings in stock (And I refuse to drive an MR2 without them!) I set on the 4 hr journey of making some from scratch...

The rings pressed in nicely with a gentle tape with a plastic hammer. Just tight enough they will not fall off at the tire shop like plastic ones.

They sit nice and flush inside the wheel, almost looking as apart of the wheel.

I had some spare 195/50R15 Achilles laying around, so they ended up quickly put on these rims so I can at least drive on them for a bit until I purchase the new tires.

Still has a clean look, even if it's a bit 4WD on the height. Don't want to lower it, but a part of me feels like some 1" drop springs "Couldn't hurt it".

Tire solution with be a set of Hankook RS4's with a 195/50R15 front and 225/45R15 rear. This provides the factory width stagger and is only $550 for fresh rubber all round.

On a side note, I'm really enjoying the SMT 6 speed, glad I ignored all the keyboard warriors and bought one.

The Happer's Hatch is a replica of the 222D hatch made by Wim Happer's in Europe. Unfortunately Wim ended up going through a large period of health issues, so ended up selling the moulds to Paul Woods. Paul has been making several batches of these including a few customised ones (no scoop) and a louvre piece to fit inside them.

I purchased mine when Paul last did a batch.

Hmmm, been a while since I updated this place, so lets blog this out.

The SW20 turbo wasn't finished for Wakefield. But ended up going to the drags.

The WRX had a clutch fail (centre cracked and let the springs out), ordered a new NPC unit.

Install was a breeze and it felt amazing.

Decided to do the brake rotors and pads.

About a month later, the gearbox developed some nasty noises. Inspection at ADS proved terminal.

Inspection of the rear diff was not positive either.

The SW20 continued doing it's thing, running nicely with the MS3X ecu and letting me tinker.

Decided to add an intercooler to the turbo plan after I found one in AW11 parts pile...

The brand new ($$$$) gearbox arrived for the WRX. Including a 20kg/mm center diff. (TL;DR: Best 5 speed gearbox possible for a WRX).

And a brand new 4.44 rear LSD differential.

Someone then had a good go at wiping out the daily Subaru. But not good enough to write it off... $7600 of damage and they repaired it :(

Back to late night runs in the SW20 to gather data for tuning it.

Data, data, data!

The WRX comes back to life. New gearbox and diff are amazing, but a few other things are concerning.

For some reason it's using all of this gauge....

Decided on a refocus in life, returned the SW20 to stock and sold it. (Sorry, no bodgy 1MZ Turbo project. Just wait for the 3MZ AW11). Went to Japan for a holiday.

Saw the best AW11 ever.

Rented a boat in Japan.

Came home, decided to do some work on my AW11. Started the exhaust I always wanted to build.

WRX was making a lot of boost, 30PSI of it. Decided to fix that. Also decided to fix the suspension with a full replacement of bushes and fitment of Shockworks Coilovers (replacing the flogged out Cusco Zero2's)

It was really good after the upgrade, so we went to the Luddenham Raceway.

Some AW11 parts arrived.

Got a phone call, the engine place said this was ready.

Went on a holiday to QLD, found my race car. Might bring it home soon...

Made an executive decision that we needed a smaller car then the daily Impreza, something cheaper on fuel, more fun and easier to maintain. Bought an MX5.

Tested fitted the hektic JDM wheels from my AW11, looks awesome, pokes too much :(

Did some alloy welding for a mate doing some modifications to a 2ZZ.

Not sure if this has been covered but is there any risk of oil drain issues out of the turbo with it mounted so low compared to the oil pan?

There is a scavenge pump installed in the boot that suck the oil from the return and pumps it back into the motor.

Good work Aaron. Is this the mr2 you are using for WFP in Nov?

I've got to finish the car, then get my entry in, so if the stars have aligned and there are still places left.... we will see :)
