Hope to have it done by the end of the year. Here is some pictures to show how far apart it was stripped for the ceramic coating

This is the intake and turbo housing that had almost been finished sanding down but just painted over them. I will do all the syncros the diff bearings and input and output shaft bearings. Not sure if I will be doing shift forks or the gears. Keep changing my mind I think its apart so might as well, but there was nothing wrong with it when I stripped it.

STD LSD left Quafie on right. The second picture shows the thread goes right to the top for the ring gear on the Quafie. It's for this reason that you need the non LSD bolts to hold it on as the shank is thicker than the ring gear so the bolts bottom out before the ring gear is tight. Also the speedo gear wont fit straight on so need another one. I think it would be possible to modify it to work but a new one is only about $50. The non LSD speedo gear is no longer available put I will post another part number once Ive confirmed it's right.

One reason not much work has been done on the MR2 is Ive been doing a bit of work on my truck. Ive always had to put the car on a bit off center so I could put the ramps next to the car. So decided to make them fit under the tray. Also got a winch for it

A while ago I got sick of smashing the tail lights when reversing into my driveway to unload the car so cut about 700mm of the tray. The purple chrome wrap had some major fading problems. Some bits turned completely chrome. Spoke to the suppler and its all sorted out now, but need to redo the whole car. Also in the last race I made a bit of a mistake.

Next thing for me to do is fix the HQ than back onto the MR2

RE: DASIC1 SW20 (purple5ive)

Great, hope to see this finished soon

RE: DASIC1 SW20 (MR2QIK)

Good to see you're still at it with the MR2. It had been a almost 2 years since I pulled it apart so would have been nice if I took some pics to help.

Next thing is to order a lot of gearbox pieces so I can put it together with the quaife. pretty sure I still have a list of what I was going to order.
The tank is also still out of the car so need to get a pump and put that back in. Pretty sure I will be going a Walbro 400 and just leave it at what ever power that can handle on E85

After a couple of years Im actually a bit excited about working on it again

RE: DASIC1 SW20 (purple5ive)

wow thats looking schmik, didnt know you can ge them in chrome..looks quite nice man.
RE: DASIC1 SW20 (dasic1)

I still havent done anything to the MR2, occasionally lift the cover just to have a look.

Due to some battle damage I was forced to do some repairs to the HQ, so decided to do a complete change. I had been looking at all the cars that have been getting vinyl wrapped and decided to give it a go.

RE: DASIC1 SW20 (Tree)

Hehe I saw this truck in person, well done on the resto, can you work on my car too lol?
As much as I love built motors I think there comes to a point where too much time is spent in the workshop instead of driving (in my exp too) but that being said when the project is finish it will be berry nice.
RE: DASIC1 SW20 (dasic1)

I havent done much to the 2.2. It still needs a lot of sanding, ceramic coating, more AN fittings, E85 fuel pump/lines, The Gen3 box is pieces for a rebuild/ fit the Quaife. So just comes down to $$$$.
Ive thought about putting it back in as it is but know I wont be happy.
At least with the spare engine in Ill be able to drive the thing. I have to put a fuel pump back in and I think the only thing im missing is a starter (Other one is pulled apart for the coating) It will be a bit of a down grade in power as it will be stock as a rock Gen3 apart from the cat back exhaust. Just like when I brought it.
RE: DASIC1 SW20 (B24)

I like the old Ford too.
