A guy I know told me that it is very easy to do after the cat has been removed.
I have of course never done this myself.
I have heard that gutting the cat will cause the engine to make more power. It should be noticeable.
I'm not sure about the CEL, as I don't know much (anything) about the Spyder.

Pre-Cat Discussion (Chewbacca)

Hoping to get some advice and opinions on that taboo topic of Pre-Cats please.

I still own a 2000 Spyder and have never done my precats nor have I had any issues.

Noting this, should I still get someone to gut them? And does anyone in Sydney provide this service or is anyone here experienced enough to do it for me?

Also I have read that if the precats are gone, the CEL will stay on permanently. Is this true because it would annoy me no end to have a red light in my dash all the time.

Thoughts?
