﻿<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><rss version="2.0"><channel><title>exhaust manifold gaskets</title><link>https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=144974</link><description /><copyright>(c) MR2 AUSTRALIA</copyright><ttl>30</ttl><item><title>exhaust manifold gaskets (tuban)</title><description>Hi,&lt;br/&gt;I'm rebuilding a gen II 3SGTE and hit a snag with the exhaust manifold gasket.&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;I bought a COMETIC exhaust manifold gasket, C4206-030, its fitting clashes with one of the instructions.&amp;nbsp; The instructions say that the brass riveted points must be outside the compressed region.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; The gasket fits the studs OK and matches up with the exhaust ports.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; The cast iron manifold surface covers both of the brass rivets of the gasket.&amp;nbsp; The alloy head has a recess over the LH rivet so it wouldn't be under compression when the manifold was attached.&amp;nbsp; However the head surface is flat facing the RH rivet so this rivet would be compressed between the head and manifold.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Should I remove this rivet?&amp;nbsp; The studs seem to be doing a good job of keeping the MLS sheets aligned.&lt;br/&gt;</description><link>https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/FindPost/144974</link><pubDate>Fri, 02 Apr 2021 17:18:17 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
