It was a great few days catching up with everyone. New friends & those I've seen every couple of years since I purchased my baby.

We couldn't have asked for better weather. A little chilly in the mornings, but that is better than sweltering in the heat. Cooler weather is also better for the cars on the longer drives.

The Molly Morgan was a great place to stay. If you have tried this Motel before with not so good experience, give it another chance. Whilst some of the rooms are a little dated, they were clean, warm & comfortable & are being updated. Sarah & Andrew have only been in charge since early 2022 & are great hosts. Plenty of Cafe's & Restaurants within walking distance. It's a great central spot to stay, with the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie & Newcastle all within an hours drive, of course you can make it longer, by taking more scenic routes. The start of Putty Road & even Woo. tton Way, Bulahdelah are an easy drive.

The cars all looked great sitting at Hope Estate. The blind Wine Tasting is a fun way to taste without pre-conceived thoughts of how it should taste.

The plan for my baby is to have her re-sprayed soon. It's our 10 year anniversary in September, so I think it's only fitting that I give her a refresh. She may give some other "Original" SDUB's a run for their money in 2024 " />" />

A big thank you to all that attended Nationals 2022 and made the event a resounding success! After a turbulent 2 years the weekend just gone seemed like the event everyone was after. I'm pleased to say I'm still smiling, about the memories made, the conversations had and the cars that were all looking their best from arrival to departure. It was fantastic to catch up with those whom I haven't seen since Canberra and even greater to see all the new faces who were attending their nationals for the very first time. We were blessed with fantastic weather for the event despite an otherwise chilly and windy Hunter Valley (or a Melbourne Summer as Kevin put it). We had a total of 37 cars show up for the event with some participating in all the weekends events and others only some, the show and shine saw some of the best examples of the MR2 and made it incredibly difficult to pick between them all. As mentioned during the ceremony, the real trophy is the smile the car gives you when you turn the key, when pedestrians smile or when other motorists give you a wave for brightening their day with something other than the everyday SUV we're seeing on the roads.

The dinner was again a great example to catch up and enjoy each other's company while some won some prizes and reflect on the MR2 family that grows every year. Go-Karting was something a little different and was great fun all round. I sincerely enjoyed the advantage of being at my home track and having a slight weight advantage to secure the win. Although I didn't make it for the Putty Rd drive, I'm told it was a great day for it and I've never known that road to disappoint so I hope everyone shared my enjoyment of the weekend and is equally looking forward to heading to Victoria in 2024!

Although you're no doubt tired of me sharing my thanks I once again want to thank the NSW Club and its Committee for their joint efforts in delivering a fantastic weekend. It's been an honor and a pleasure to put the event on for everyone and we're looking forward to the future. For our financial members, we will be in touch over the next few months as we work on the merger with Toymods incorporated but will remain as present as ever on the Facebook platform after the merge.

A couple things you need to know about the Molly Morgan & surrounds.

Unfortunately their restaurant/catering is closed at the moment, so there is no breakfast available. Each room has a bar fridge, microwave, toaster & jug, so if you bring your own food you can heat/toast. There is a bakery almost across the road that is open early. A shopping centre close by as well.

There are hoses & plenty of room for car washing.

There are a couple of servo's handy for fuel.

Slight change to our Sunday programme. Go-Karting is still happening, but we will be doing a pub lunch after, as they are no longer doing their lunch BBQ's.
We will also be doing a welcome BBQ on Friday.
Everyone registered will receive a detailed programme closer to the event.

Time is slipping away. Just over 4 months to go. We are allowed to travel across borders . We are allowed to mingle, socially distanced of course . Register on-line, book your leave, book your accommodation & get your MR2 sorted.

If you are attending without a passenger / partner & staying at The Molly Morgan, you might want to save some $$ & share with a friend. Most rooms have more than 1 bed.

Hi All,

It is with sadness that we have decided to postpone MR2 Nationals 2021. Given the growing epidemic in NSW and the increasing case numbers all projections do not expect the state to be out of lockdown till after the proposed date of the October long weekend. This decision was made after careful consideration to all factors and stakeholders involved and we apologise that we aren't able to celebrate the nationals event in 2021.

We will however postpone the event to the 2022 June Long weekend! We have a lot to figure out between now and then but hopefully this gives us something to work towards and look forward to. At this point in time we're planning to run the event identically to the way it was proposed to run for October in this year but this is subject to our sponsors and service providers agreeing to the date change. We're choosing to let our members and entrants know first as we want to keep everyone updated with respect to developments.

We understand that a number of you have already paid deposits for this year's event. We are providing entrants with the option to have their registration for the event cancelled and their total balance refunded to you ASAP or at your election we can retain your deposit for the 2022 event. We cannot provide a partial refund if you wanted to cancel your registration but still purchase a shirt due to administrative difficulties. If you wish to purchase shirts separately before the event we've made it possible for you to do this at the registration page on our website and this will be updated in the coming days.

We ask for everyone's patience while we sort out the events for Nationals 2022 and reconfirm bookings with our suppliers and do reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Below are some FAQ's for the event.

Q: Can I get my money back and how?
A: Yes of course, please message us by reply email and we can arrange a full refund of your total amount paid

Q: Will I need to re-register for Nationals 2022?
A: Only if you have elected for a full refund with us by reply email

Q: Will the events stay the same?
A: We're hoping to have the same events for 2022 but there might have to be changes if any of our providers can't accommodate the new date. If this happens everyone will be notified.

Q: Can I refund part of my payment e.g. I want a shirt but am unable to attend the new date
A: No, refunds will be only for the full amount paid, we cannot provide a partial refund. We can however extend an invitation to purchase a shirt separately, they will be $30 inclusive of postage and can be obtained when the website is updated in the coming days.

Q: Can you guarantee it won't be rescheduled again?
A: We can't provide guarantees at this stage, the future of the epidemic is unknown. We expect that there should be little to no issues with the new proposed date but everyone will be notified of any changes as soon as we know them.

Q: Will the club host another event in its place?
A: The club must consider the safety of our members as a top priority and while a lockdown is in effect we will not be hosting any events. If the lockdown is lifted by October long weekend we will endeavour to list an event but the committee considers this to be unlikely.

Q: I have a question thats not listed above
A: Get in touch with us by reply email and we'll help you out as best as we can.

Finally we wish all our members, their family and their friends the best during this difficult time. Lockdown has presented many challenges for everyone and we stand beside our members as an ongoing support hub as well as an organisation for the love of the Toyota MR2. We know many are holding off their registration due to the currect Covid-Delta outbreaks. We will be having a contingency meeting in the next couple of weeks to make a decision.
