﻿<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><rss version="2.0"><channel><title>Camshaft timing problem</title><link>https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=142930</link><description /><copyright>(c) MR2 AUSTRALIA</copyright><ttl>30</ttl><item><title>Camshaft timing problem (GTIRHil)</title><description>Hi&lt;br/&gt;I read lots of good stuff on camshaft timing but I still can't get it to work.&lt;br/&gt;I skimmed a bit off my head and got adjustable (Blox) cam gears, as advised by the shop.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;I still have stock cams in my 1989 AW11 with big port 4AGE, , so according to Bob Sherwood I am looking to reach full exhaust opening at about 110 degrees BTC.&lt;br/&gt;I found my TDC with the proper tool, and it was bang on the factory dot.&amp;nbsp; I then fitted up a dial gauge on the valve.&amp;nbsp; However instead of reaching full opening at 110 degrees of crankshaft rotation I found it at 155 degrees.&lt;br/&gt;That was too much for me, so for the moment&amp;nbsp; I matched the Blox up with the factory cam gears (so timing about as from the factory) and then advanced the cams by about 4 degrees.&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;Why did I end up with the wild cam timing for full opening?&amp;nbsp; Should I believe it and time for full opening?&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;Thanks for your thoughts!&lt;br/&gt;</description><link>https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/FindPost/142930</link><pubDate>Mon, 07 Oct 2019 18:29:11 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
