Takes a few seconds/minutes. No need to disassemble the car :)

Cheers

Re: E153 gear box to a 1990 sw20 with mechanical speedo how do i make the speedo work (Locked On)

The 1990 e153 speedo drive ....is it fitted the the box from the inside out ?
Surely i wouldn't need the dropnthe engine and gear box to replace ?
Re: E153 gear box to a 1990 sw20 with mechanical speedo how do i make the speedo work (Guest)

Artmr2 - talking from experience is as good as it gets :)

Re: E153 gear box to a 1990 sw20 with mechanical speedo how do i make the speedo work (artymr2)

I swapped a 1994 JDM turbo box into 1990 JDM turbo car. Just removed the mech drive speedo sensor from old box and inserted into new box.

Perfect fit and everything works as normal.

Cheers

Re: E153 gear box to a 1990 sw20 with mechanical speedo how do i make the speedo work (Guest)

Mechanical Cluster = cable driven, mechanical speedo sensor / cog in early gen gearbox, blue speedo ring pre dec 1991.

Electronic Cluster = wiring, electronic speedo with electronic cog in late gearbox, white speedo ring.

I can look when home with my gearboxes that are apart.
