It's hard to get quality tires in the 205/40R17 size. 17's are also a bit big in general for a ZZW30, so you can reap some benefits by going back to a 15" or 16" rim size where there is still a generous amount of quality tires.

205/50R15 should be similar in size to what you need and the Federal RS-RR (~$120), Kumho KU36 ($130), Yokohama AD08R ($200) tires are all affordable with good performance and availability.

Curious to know what size 17" tyres everyone is running on their Spyder. I have been running 205/40R17 for years but now I cannot find a legal 205/40R17 tyre for the Spyder since el cheap Maxxis stop making one of their tyres and anything larger than this is over the 3% threshold and hence, illegal. Interested in your thoughts.
