Have you tried MAP, mechatronics auto parts? They have a range of fobs that might be useable.

same as mine,
the toyota branded 08190-60810 is the same as alpine 8040.
the smaller box is a radar sensor,the main box is usually under the drivers seat and the sensor was up on the tunnel under the center console.the valet/security switch was missing on mine along with the remote so i removed it from the car and bypassed the starter cut while i keep hunting for a fob,this is the closest i got to finding one but need to hav the original to program a new one

Thank you for the information! I have the factory Toyota branded system (P/N: 08190-60810) in the photo above. I haven't looked for the smaller ECU box yet.

i have the alpine 8040 unit installed on the gt models,ive been searching for the fob but havent found one,trying to locate a cheap rs3000 fob..

Hi all,

I'm looking to try and reprogram in new key fobs. Can anyone provide assistance with what genuine Toyota or aftermarket key fobs work with 1997 MR2 SW20 Bathurst factory alarm and central locking system?

Factory remote is the square type. I haven't been able to track down any original replacements.
Part number: 08191-20810
