Yep I snapped it up about 4 weeks ago from BigH who's been living overseas for the few years.
It has sat for a while and it does need some reconditioning. Overall though i'm very happy with it for the price!

The car has gotten the better of me at the moment in regards to my limited time schedule. I need it on the road asap, and it will need a thorough going through before it can pass RWC. What are the more renowned Mechanics in Melbourne who specialise in MR2's? Iv'e searched, but all I can find is IDB, which have closed down.

Stuka yes I am a fiat man! Good pick up. I have a 1978 fiat X1/9. Its a never ending project/love hate relationship that we have going on haha.

For now the plan is to get it on the road and driving right. Then move onto some very mild mods to enhance its DD fun factor!

Driving the car home I noticed a few foibles that need attention asap.

-the steering was messed up, bucking and kicking all over the road.
-2nd gear syncro is toast
-engine is only running up to around 7psi boost at wot

The steering was remedied very quickly, the front anti roll bar was mounted incorrectly causing it to pull at the wheel with anything more than 10% lock. Feels spot on now.

Now to get on top of the other two problems. Im hoping the boost problem is something minor, the engine runs and revs up very smoothly, no hesitation or smoke.🤞

First things first. I need to get a rwc asap to get the car on the road. Anyone know a rwc mechanic who might be sympathetic to my cause?

Hey everyone,
My name is Matt, and I have a great passion for mid engined cars 🤘
I used to have a dark green 1992 sw20 turbo, but got rid of it to get a hilux (mad right?). I justified it by telling myself that I wanted a hardtop anyway. I regretted that decision until now.

This little gem came up at the right price. So i had to snap it up!

I thought I'd start a thread as I'd love to document my progress and I'll definitely need some experienced opinions to recommision her.
