If your target is 350Hp you will need to strip and rebuild the injun anyway, and you can pick them up for <$10k. Reputation is that the drive train of your NA won't handle 350Hp.
Once project car is on the road, you can sell your NA. Helps to have double garage at your disposal.

Anyway that's one way....

Couldn't agree more. It's the only cost effective way in my opinion.

Sent from my SM-J320ZN using Tapatalk

Re: Turbo motor swap (TwoDogs)

Muuuuuch cheaper to start with an old JDM SW20 Turbo. Gearboxes, driveshafts, hubs and shifter cables are getting rarer and more expensive.

If you want a turbo car, my recommendation would be to sell yours and buy another one - It will work out cheaper

Re: Turbo motor swap (92 Hard Top)

Put a 2gr in it.
Re: Turbo motor swap (Timclarkee)

I would say gen 3 personally, although I’m biased from already doing the swap
Gen 3 has the better turbo, catch can, better intake mani and head, map sensor, no tvis, ect, for a base gen 3 is good and can make some nice power,
Although i’ve Heard the gen 2 block is better for high horse power applications, and gen 2 defiently has more support aftermarket

Turbo motor swap (Sw2091)

I'm wanting to do a turbo motor swap to my 1990 na sw20 and want to know what motor is best and which has the most aftermarket support.
