Hi All,
I’ve been asked to cover off a few more safety items for Saturdays event.
I’ve already listed the compulsory clothing items and recommended brake inspections, however I will list them again here:
As always you are welcome to go above the minimum standards if you have the safety gear already.
If anyone has any questions or concerns please message me.

Mandatory:
Australian Standards Helmet
Neck to Wrist to Ankle Clothing
Closed in Shoes
All loose items including floor matts to be removed from vehicle.
Drivers window 75% up.
Any go pros or cameras must have a second strap securing them to the car

Inspection:
Please inspect your braking system, if not the entire car, prior to attending the circuit.
In addition, please check your fluids and torque your wheel nuts.
Ensure seat belt is in good condition and working.
If your brake fluid is old , please replace it before attending the track.

Optional (however recommended):
Cotton socks and underwear (not synthetic)
Any exposed glass headlights or glass fog lights have tape in an “x” across them.
Fire extinguisher (Securely mounted)

Timers:
Timers will need to be mounted away from any metals on the vehicle, preferably on the front.
Any metals between the timer and the track surface can interfere with the timing. I usually zip-tie mine onto the front bumper slats.

The timers can be rented for $20 from the tower plus a $100 deposit, or you can buy outright for $100.
If the timer is damaged, lost or not returned, you will not receive your deposit back. The batteries last about 5 years, so I personally consider it better value just to buy one if you’re going to do at least one track day a year.

For the morning session we will be mixed in with other “tin tops” which can be any range of car from race car to stock street cars. Please be aware of faster vehicles and use your mirrors. We will cover off safe passing at the track but some general rules;

The overtaking car is always responsible – so only overtake when safe to do so
No overtaking on corners
If you are being approached by a faster car, hold your line and allow the faster car to pass.

For the afternoon session we are on track with only the MR2’s, same principal applies as above however.

Drive within your own and your cars limits. The last thing we want is accidents at any event.

Please bring tape to tape your number to the car, and zip ties to secure the timer to your car

Well Fredhoon you not the only one with the manflu... I was intending to come down as a supporter for the Mr2 guys but being sick as a dog doesn't bode well with 3 hour travel I'd have to do to get there. So I hope everyone enjoys themselves and I'll hopefully be down that way for the next run Cheers Steve 😉

I'm currently afflicted by man-flu and most of the family has regular flu. Even if I'm back in the land of the living on Saturday I won't be alive much longer If I leave my sick wife alone in the house with hyperactive and/or sick kids.

IMPORTANT!!!
Details for Saturday;

Morning Session - General Practice.
7AM: Gates open to the track. Policy for pit bays is first in, best dressed. Those who can be there at 7AM please do so, so that we can secure 10 pit bays (we can double stack the bays - please do so out of courtesy)

7.30AM The circuit office opens. To make QR's life as easy as possible, please arrive early to officially sign on and show your annual licence or buy a day/annual on the day. You can rent or buy your transponder from the tower

8.00AM All those who wish to partake in the morning session please meet outside the tower for a drivers breifing. There is no official breifing for general practice. I am aiming to get QR staff to talk to everyone, however if they are unavailable I will run through some racing etiquite and details on passing etc as per QR rules.

On track from 8.30AM. We may or may not be mixed in with other cars depending on how busy they are. The morning session is not a requirement, so if you're not comfortable you can sit it out (dosn't count towards times for trophies for those who are interested)

11.30 General practice winds up - as a bonus, Terry O'beirne has set aside some time for us to get some tips and racing etiquette from him in the drivers briefing room at the tower.

12.30PM Official drivers breifing for sprints - !This is required!

1.00PM Sprits session starts

4.30-5.00PM Sprits session winds up. If extra time is available a passenger session may be available at QR's discretion, however this is not promised.

Please remember to bring an Australian standards helmet, long pants, long shirt and closed in shoes.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me. Please make sure your cars are well prepared and bring water to the track.

Best shakedown ever coming up, who's cars are ready and whos cars are still being put back together?

Well we are getting close to the event day and we have lots of ground covered with the fees and licensing, grouping and a gentlemans race for honours in the AW11 camp hotting up. If there are any questions or concerns with the event be sure to send myself or Eric a Pm, facebook message, txt message or phone call.

Looking forward to having everyone from the club in attendance be it on or off the track to show their support. It is an official event so attendance includes those cars on club rego. So dust off the helmets, wash those race suits, get that wheel alignment, take that last gram of weight from the car. I look forward to seeing you all at Queensland Raceway on the 2nd.

Have now done Qld. Raceway entry and bought their license.
Thanks to Danny for putting in hours and days on the electrics over the last few MONTHS this SW Turbo is starting to look as though it might be a goer. Part way through it's running in. I owe Danny BIGTIME!!!!!!!!!!!
