The link I gave describes a popular wiring mod.
There is also a discussion somewhere on the forum about it if you search.

Did you get the reverse lights along with thenew center garnish?
They are simply wired into the reversing wires on the old set.

I don't know what the wire on the lock does but it may be part of the later model security setup.

I've got the boot lock, that was the easy part haha. I think the centre garnish has the mounting brackets too.

I have a wire coming off the new boot lock that wasn't on the old one, any idea what that is?

And did you have a guide on the wiring because I have no clue how to wire up reverse into the old wires

The only problem apart from the wiring (early plugs won't fit) is getting the reverse lights to fit in. (panel beating required)
You'll also need mounting brackets for the center garnish, and a new boot lock will be needed, but you can get the old key modded to fit.

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone remembers a write up on doing the gen3 tail light swap.

I could have sworn there was a write up but can't find it anywhere, so is it lost or did I dream it?
