I'm outside a major city, over 25, no claims, car is kept in a garage, market value (so was about 3k before I moved to RACV) and under 5000kms per year. The price was about $500 a year from memory.

Only reason I moved was due to Shannon's not offering fire and theft. Now that the car is in pieces in my garage I may revisit them for laid up cover though.

In my case I have two cars with them and both do under 5000km a year and lock up garage that's my true story.

Obviously not your sorry Aaron.
Nothing special, just the cars specs. Could help I have a perfect record or I'm just an old fart, who knows.

I'm not saying you live anywhere untoward but I think location plays a part in pricing. Afaik know it's to do with the amount of claims made in the area.

I have 4 mr2's with Shannon's, highest premium I pay is for my 1996 GTS turbo is $860 per year agreed value of $20k.

Im with Shannons as well and they gave me $15k off the bat and they were happy to up it further is youre willing to pay to play. Sure it is expensive each year at around 2.5k, this is mostly to do with the fact im 24. I have been with Just Car, Youi and NRMA in the past and Shannons have been my best experience with an insurer so far.

I am with Sgio classic and veterans insurance and had no problem getting my 1991 insured for $20,000

I'm with Shannons with two cars.
The mr2 is valued at $7000 with full insurance.
Another's option They had for me was insurance only if ever anything happens to the car at home or when you take it to the track on trailer. They have few options depending on what Yu do with the car.

I went with Youi on my latest car due to pricing and being covered for modifications,etc. as long as everything is reported. Shannon's for someone my age (20 y/o male) was pretty expensive; almost double the 2nd most expensive quote I was given from another company.. and their cover was max $9000 agreed value (for a 94 JDM hardtop turbo!)

Previously I've always tried to go with Just Car however as they're closing down now, it's kinda hard for us young 'uns to get a good deal now!

I am currently with youi but the agreed value they will give me is only $3400 for targa n/a

Yeah, it's not too flash hot. Bright side to it I suppose is that you don't exactly intend on writing the car off, so don't stress about the covered value. Hopefully you'll never have to use it!
