(grl570810)

Hi All,
Looking for some advice - my speedo has started acting weird in the last week or so. When I first start up it goes all the way to 260kph for a few seconds, then sits at 40kph whilst I am at a standstill. Then when I start moving it zooms back up again - I was apparently doing 190kph the other day down Burnt Bridge Creek deviation which was pretty impressive <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s1.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" /> After about 10 minutes it seems to settle down to be relatively normal though it is sometimes reluctant to drop to zero again when stationary. Fortunately I don't really need it to know my speed have had the car long enough to know what I'm doing by sound & tacho... The odometer seems to be recording normally as best I can test. This is a '93 Australian delivered SW20 N/A. I think the issue has to be electrical as I cannot conceive any way a mechanical device could act like this. Ideas -where do I start looking?
Thanks,
Graham
