I found breaking the 20yo seal on the filler pipe the most difficult part. Still not the most enjoyable thing to do though.

Re: New Fuel pump (Falcon)

Disconnect the battery!! Tank as empty as possible. Car as high as possible both front and back.
Car stable on good jack stands!! Break loose fuel filler rubber hose from steel hose from filler cap.
Take care not to damage or kink the plastic high pressure fuel line between tank and filter as you
lower the tank!!! You may choose to remove the exhaust for easier access. Mind the oxygen sensor.
It's not fun but quite doable. I've done three now. The rest is pretty straight forward.
Take your time and enjoy a job well done.
Re: New Fuel pump (Mrskylighter)

Are you working off a guide on how to tackle this job? Definitely recommend it if you aren't.

I have not personally done a pump before but I've read many stories over the years :) Make sure the tank is almost empty as apparently it is quite challenging to handle/manipulate it (especially if done laying under the vehicle at home)
Re: New Fuel pump (MR Two)

Now realise that the connectors are under the ash tray , roll on tomorrow .
Re: New Fuel pump (MR Two)

You funny man MR Skyjoker !!
Got the center console off and having trouble finding the cover plate for the electrical pump connections , do the late model SW20's actually have them !!
Will have a better look in the morning and already having express fun !!
Re: New Fuel pump (Mrskylighter)

$103.40 for a Denso is good. When you include the $14.28AUD postage to Oz the total is about $145AUD via Amazon. Cheaper then the chest Ebay deal (approx. $160AUD)

Carmikey

mister2

Nice detective work there Mrskylighter.
