You'll spend a lot of money in labour. If you have time, do it yourself - there is a wealth of information on the internet. FYI - I had a gen 2 3SGTE and swapped a celica gen 3 3SGTE into my MR2, so I have some experience. but a NA to turbo is a lot more involved.&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;In saying that, before you put a donor engine into the car, your should ideally refresh a lot of things to ensure happy motoring for kms to come. I.e change water pump, timing belt etc etc.&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;If you get a half cut and do the swap from that, it'll be much simpler, but some things to consider with regards to differences between the turbo and NA:&lt;br/&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Radiator is smaller in NA&lt;li&gt;Brakes are larger in turbo&lt;li&gt;turbo has power steering (Assuming yours is a AUD NA)&lt;li&gt;Your current engine may be a cable driven speedo? Newer engine will be electronic&lt;li&gt;If changing between Gen 2 and 3, the exhaust moves slightly across so you may find it slightly out of alignment, or hitting the cross member if trying to reuse the existing exhaust.&lt;li&gt;Turbo has stronger drivetrain&lt;/ul&gt;These are a few items, but you'd be surprised at how much they change between the different versions.&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br/&gt;Good Luck!&lt;br/&gt;</description><link>https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/FindPost/131972</link><pubDate>Wed, 21 Sep 2016 09:25:56 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title>Re: 3SGTE (Guest)</title><description>Become a qld club member, it&amp;#39;s a cheap $50 for the year, get to a few club meet ups and talk to the members - it&amp;#39;s a long conversation. Membership to qld club and the events allows you to gain all your info needs and more.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mechanics who have tried have generally failed as its not a common job; wiring issues (ECU) and other issues that need more than I can bolt in an engine qualification. Blow out in quoted costs over $10k and ended up with a tired 3sgte gen 2 and oil leaks.  Any mechanic who claims to do it recommend you speak to the owners of the mr2s they have done it for. Terry from road and track has closed up, he had the experience / knowledge but again would be much higher than just buying a turbo car.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Swap to a 3sgte gen 4 caldina would be best option, if you have the funds for a wrecked caldina (4,500-6,500) plus mechanical charges, plus conversion parts costs, plus gearbox / hubs / driveshafts, plus ECU/wiring - spend big $$,$$$z &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Converting to a gen 2 or 3 3sgte is best for a rebuild before installing. Do it yourself as a project but you need good $,$$$z on top of major components; engine, gearbox, drive shafts, hubs, ECU, wiring loom, brakes (system).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Only person I would trust to take on a conversion is ex-qld mr2 club president (if he would take on the job). &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Sell your n/a and buy a turbo car, there are many differences in the cars more than just engines, example differnet brakes, brake bias system, brake peddle and other vehicle aspects like gearbox, drive shafts, hubs and much more (you really need an entire turbo car).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Unfortunately we don&amp;#39;t live in the UK or USA, where far more is possible at a reasonable price.</description><link>https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/FindPost/131968</link><pubDate>Tue, 20 Sep 2016 22:08:46 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title>3SGTE (maccardo94)</title><description>I have a 92 sw20 with the 3sge in it..in the near future im really wanting to engine swap a 3sgte in it..being mechanically retarted I will have to get someone to do the whole swap and all...will this be expensive AF?
