The stock front tyres for SW20's were 195 wide. (195/50R14 or 195/55R15)
If you have wider than that the steering will be heavier.
I have also found that old tyres with hard rubber can make the steering heavier.
Also maybe pump up the front tyres another 2-4 PSI, which should make the steering lighter.

Re: MR2 Power Steering (Jake_ma)

Great, Thanks carmikey.

So much more work to be done to my current MR2.

Really driving me nuts.
Re: MR2 Power Steering (Carmikey)

Jake_ma
So tightening the vertical screw will allow the headlight to point downward?

Correct.
Also, from memory, no need to remove anything as Shaz mentioned.
Re: MR2 Power Steering (Jake_ma)

So tightening the vertical screw will allow the headlight to point downward?
Re: MR2 Power Steering (Shaz)

mister2
It's easy. Just remove the black cover (4 Phillips head screws on each side), then you can adjust the lights by turning the screws, which are also Phillips Head if I recall correctly.

I was able to get a screw driver onto the adjusting screws without removing anything.
Re: MR2 Power Steering (Shaz)

mister2

Jake_ma Is there no any other way? The problem i face is the mounting point for the power steering rack seems to be different from the non power steering rack.I guess I need to bring the rack to Malaysia and check with the MR2 group there.

Would also like to check how to i actually adjust the headlight? Other then the red knob is there any other place that will allow me to adjust it?

Thanks in advance.
Re: MR2 Power Steering (Guest)

Google seems to report its a custom kinda job to change from non power steering to power steering.... Cutting etc, so would be best to have a power steering shell to get it right....
http://www.mr2.com/forums...ring-to-Power-Steering

Maybe take out the spare tyre and lighten the front end, puta slightly bigger steering wheel on, change to narrower front tyres, learn for a slight roll when turning....
