I find the most effective way to bleed the system is a reverse method of using a syringe to push the fluid back through the bleed valve near the slave cylinder.

Please see my guide with pictures: https://www.docdroid.net/ZIfJ3hG/sw20-reverse-clutch-bleed.pdf.html

I want to put that in the how-to sections but Admin won't respond to me :(
Re: Location of clutch master cylinder valve/Screw/nipple (Bluewater)

Gracer

hi guys first time having to drain my clutch fluid i have had to buy a new master cylinder as the other one was leaking where about's underneath the car is this located to drain out. any pictures would be greatly appreciated.Cheer's...

Drain it out from under the the filing reservoir. Take care to get none of it on any surfaces of the car body, place a plastic bag with rags on it under it to absorb any spills. Master cylinder will be in the front. Slave unit will be attached to the gearbox or there about. Anyone Plz feel to correct me if there is a drain plug, at which I don't believe there is, I'm a new MR2 owner, so don't know if Toyota put one in, at which I doubt. Just to reconfirmed DO NOT GET A DROP ON ANY PAINTWORK AT ALL. Hope that's helpful. Otherwise get a break fluid drain kit from Supercheap (or the clear hose used in the kit) attach it to the bleed nipple on the slave unit at to gearbox, run the tube to a container on the floor under,(open bleed nipple, pump your clutch a few time till the reservoir is almost empty. Pending if you want to drain the full line or not. Which pending how long since a full flushing has been done. I myself would drain the lot, you'll find in most cases the fluid at the slave unit side will be a dirtier colour. But is not necessary, but will put clean fluid right though the line. So if you fully drain, just means the bleed of the the lines after the repairs will take a few mins longer. If you only want to drain the master side. Then drain reservoir to near empty, lock the bleed nipple at the slave unit off(closed) then use a rag to adsorb the remaining fluid in the reservoir. Replace the parts your doing. Then refill reservoir, let it sit for 10mins give or take. Then with any luck you won't have an air bubble in the line and can breed the system till the clutch is back to being firm. Again don't get a drop of the fluid on any painted surfaces 👍🏻🍺
Re: Location of clutch master cylinder valve/Screw/nipple (Reddtarga)

+1

Vacuum bleeder kits are cheap on Ebay
Re: Location of clutch master cylinder valve/Screw/nipple (artymr2)

Use a vacuum or pressure bleed technique.
