This is almost exactly like how I want my car (minus interior. Love the stock one).
Wish I had the money + open license to pick this up

I saw this car parked one row away from my car today. It is very clean inside and out and sounds great.

Looks like it would be a good pickup at the price.

Year: 1993 - SW20 series II
Kilometres: 160,XXX kms

Interior: custom yellow / black / silver
Engine: 3SGTE - 2.0L 4cyl with factory turbo
Transmission: 5 speed manual
17 inch AMG alloys with good rubber (> 3/4) but missing one of the central caps
Usual features: ABS disc brakes, air-conditioned, electric windows, electric side mirrors and retraction, remote central locking.

Comments: A much appreciated but very under-utilised MR2. I have owned this car for the last 8.5 years and used it as a reliable and enjoyable daily drive, doing about 4,000 km per year. In the last six months (with 3 cars between 2 people) I’ve added less than 1000 kms, using it once a week to keep the battery charged. Hence the very low kms.
The previous owner was the first Australian owner and did the yellow respray – it’s a good job and you need to look deep into the engine bay to see any original red. It’s always been garaged so the paint work is in very good condition.

Modifications (as far as I know):
SBCi-D programmable turbo boost controller
turbo timer
remote boot release and remote start
2 x larger electric cooling fans under the engine cover
Pod air filter, blow off valve
Momo steering wheel
Bucket seats
custom yellow, black and silver interior trim (see photos)
King springs about 35,XXX km ago. The ones fitted when I bought it were below legal height for rego – these springs are now about 5mm lower than factory.
Clarion CD radio with Clarion F2 > 300 amp in the boot and 2 Rockford Fosgate 800W speakers behind the seats. Unfortunately I broke one of the cable plugs in the boot with luggage – minor repair required.

Issues: Not many!
Rubber in very good condition but sometimes gets minor leak in the targa roof in heavy rain (nothing unique!)
Minor crack in bottom of front air dam on drivers side (beware of driveways with steep gutters)
An aftermarket ‘economy gauge’ (why?) in the cigarette lighter hole doesn’t work.
Some cracking of the plastics around the interior door handles.
Missing the interior storage box that sits between the seats at the back.

Update:
The car was taken off the market when I notice the clutch starting to slip. So, while the engine was out I had a few more things done (basically a 200,000 km servicing):

new clutch (genuine), fly wheel machined, etc
new cam belt, idler, cam belt tensioner
new water pump, thermostat, gaskets, etc
new inner LHS CV boot
service (new fuel and oil filters)
new battery
four wheel balance

So the car is now running really smoothly ... but I still have the problem of one car too many, so she has to go (the car that is).
