Queensland Raceways
Lakeside Open Sprints entries are Open. You will get 3x 6 Lap sessions at a minimum at Lakeside this Saturday afternoon. Sign on is between 11am and 12am. Drivers Briefing 12.15. On track at 1pm.

Please follow the link below to register.

General Practise is available before the Sprints on Saturday 27th February 2016. THIS WEEKEND. Sign on will open at 7.30am. Track time will start at 9.30am and finish at 12.30pm. Cost is $120.

You will need;
A Clubman Licence, (if you don't already have one these can be purchased on the day, they are $20 for a day or $55 for the year.) Long pants, Long sleeved top and a AS/NZS 1698 standard helmet as a minimum, are a must.

If you have pre-entered this weekends sprints you can take part in the Super Sunday event for an extra $25 (total cost $200 pre-entered).That's a huge saving of $95. Just see the girls in the office and tell them you have pre-entered.
Simply follow the link below if you are not already entered. Enter the sprints and pay the $25 on the morning to take part in the general practise.

Lakeside has always been on the cards. QR is cheaper and easier to book though which is why I have done it in the past. It is also great for beginner drivers with heaps of runoff room.

Dom - several of us (Roger) have been bugging Eric to book a sprint session at Lakeside, I believe it will be on the cards at some stage during the year. Personally I plan to attend at least one practise day at Morgan Park as well + a "Come and Try" Hillclimb at Mt Cotton throughout the year. The Border Rangers Rally also looks like a good amateur event to attend if I can find a cheap AW11 to thrash and then part out afterwards.

The point of this thread is to put the dates out there and see who's interested, and/or who's going to an event incase anyone else wants to tag along. I'll cross-post this in the "Brisbane MR2 Crew" Facebook group once the detail is fleshed out.

Great Idea Tim!

The official calendar has some track events on it too. I will be looking to book some additional sessions this year though. I am also looking at things such as skidpan day and lakeside sprints.

Please note that anything in this thread is simply distribution of information. It is your own decision to compete or participate in any events listed on here and we hold no liability for anything that happens on these days.

The calendar is going to be extremely full for the club this year, so I probably wont do too many sprints.

This is a consolidated list of casual motorsport style events that are organised / operated by others in the SEQld / Nothern NSW area. Note I haven't posted a full list of the various racing series, just events that the causal amateur or 1st timer may wish to attend. Please post up any events that you know about or are attending in 2016 and I'll add them to the list.

The list of these events are not part of, organised by or affiliated with the MR2 Owners Club Qld Branch Inc. (e.g. QR sprint sessions booked by Eric). A separate thread will be created for any official events organised by the Club. Now that the "all care and no responsibility taken" clause is out of the way, on to the list of events...

Attendance / Entry requirements:
Please check with the event organiser, however typical requirements are as follows..

Vehicle - no major oil leaks, insulated positive battery terminal, no damage or loose parts, no unsafe modifications (registered and roadworthy for Street events)
Clothing - generally neck to ankle, long sleeve cotton clothing with closed shoes

Skidpan - no special requirements?
CAMS Come & Try (e.g. Motorkhana, Hillclimb) - CAMS day license + Helmet for Hillclimb
QR/Lakeside Sprints & Practise - ASAA Clubman license ($50/yr) or CAMS L2S + Helmet
Morgan Park Practise & Hillclimbs - CAMS L2S license (affiliated Club membership + $125/yr) + Helmet
