So easiest to source are penrite and lucas running in oils, also joe gibbs (expensive and a pain in the ass.)

You can also use base mineral oils and get a zinc additive as well.

Re: Engine break-in oil (TomsMR2)

Penrite do a specific break in oil
I have used it before with good results

http://www.penriteoil.com...=1&id_products=397

Engine break-in oil (IMR22C)

G'day all, I've finally gotten the motor and gearbox mounted back into the car. Once all the ancillaries and a few other issues are sorted I'll be able to start it up.

Just wondering what brand and weight people suggest for engine break-in oil?
And whether it's worth running two lots of oil through it during the break-in period? (changing somewhere between 250-500kms).
My plan was to at least replace a couple of oil filters in the first 1000kms.

Thanks.
