If not try the computer
When starting the fuel pump gets its own earth for about 2 seconds while starting but then when it starts the computer controls the earth so if it's cactus it won't be giving it that earth and like you say it will start but not run

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Re: Starts but won't run (track_mr2)

You don't have any kind of immobilizers fitted do you?
Re: Starts but won't run (White hotshot)

What about the alternator/belt?

Re: Starts but won't run (RALLY A DUB)

Look in the Big Green Book (BGB) manual p. FI 110

The relay is the round knobby looking one in the box near the battery
Its the one farthest from the strut tower. You should hear it click when you turn on the ignition.
The book has a way to test it if you have a multimeter.

The other round one is the injector relay which you can test.

The solenoid resistor also comes into play.

Look for damaged wires, plugs with rusty terminals and loose connectors and give looms a bit of a shake which might highlight a dodgy connection

Good Luck!
Re: Starts but won't run (mms78)

@Rallyadub
the fuse is fine, but it does appear to be cold start only, and no injection afterwards
Do you know where the EFI relay is located, none of my fuseboxes have the correct covers with markings any more
Re: Starts but won't run (Carmikey)

Have you tried disconnecting the Coolant temp sensor, & just bypassing it? I've had a similar starting issue, it wouldn't fire up, disconnected the sensor, & although a little rough when first started (approx. 30 secs) runs fine after that.
Re: Starts but won't run (sweeetpete)

Same problem I am having with the track spyder , will try these ideas to see if it is that. Both have circuits that if they are not closing, will turn off the fuel pump as soon as the starter is switched off.

Easy way to test is to jumper the FP to B+ terminals in the Diagnostic box.

If it starts and runs with the wires jumpered, then you've found your issue.
Starts but won't run (mms78)

Totally confused about this one.
Turn the key, the engine starts, then instantly dies.

Fuel pressure is good
Spark is good
Timing is good

Anyone have any ideas, I don't care how far left field they are.
