Mine has a slight fraction of a gap...used washers I think from memory to pad it out a bit.

Yeah I bought a used gen 3 lock from one of the members here but it's short... does your lock sit flush with the centre piece cos mine doesn't. It's still behind the centre piece

I purchased the proper longer lock and swapped the pins over from the old lock to the new one so I could use my original keys.

hey thanks... that's what I figured... I got home and swapped them over... Looks great. Just the rear lock is not long enough so there is a bit of a gap

From memory I just used the existing Gen 2 loom......the bulb bayonets fitted into the Gen 3 lights. Just had to join the reversing lights allowing for extra wire length.
I also swapped the old lock pins into the new one so I could use my existing key.

Thanks mate... I'll have a look at that link. Quick question though, did you use the Gen 2 wiring loom and swapped it onto the gen 3 lights?

I just spliced mine together.....connected the existing reverse lamp wiring to the new reversing lights. Had to allow for extra length from memory. This http://www.mr2.com/Mk2Articles.html is a very informative site for future reference.

All the later bulbs & bayonets fitted without swapping anything over. The only rewiring I had to do were the reversing lights.

I'm doing the conversion now but cannot figure out how do I wire the reverse lights? Does anyone know or have any pics that would be great
